3 best copper pan for candy

Copper pans for candy making are a specialized type of cookware designed for preparing various types of candies, particularly those that require precise temperature control. Here is what you need to know about these pans:

  1. Material: Copper pans for candy making are typically made from a thick layer of copper on the exterior and a thin layer of stainless steel or tin on the interior. The copper exterior allows for excellent heat conductivity, while the stainless steel or tin lining prevents chemical reactions between the copper and acidic ingredients commonly used in candy making.

  2. Heat Conductivity: Copper is known for its outstanding heat conductivity, which means it heats up quickly and distributes heat evenly across the cooking surface. This is essential for achieving precise temperature control when making candies like caramel or toffee.

  3. Temperature Control: Candy making often requires precise temperature control, and copper pans excel in this regard. Copper pans respond rapidly to changes in heat, making it easier to reach and maintain specific temperatures needed for various candy recipes.

  4. Size and Shape: Copper candy pans come in various sizes and shapes, from small saucepan-like designs to larger, wider pans. The choice of size depends on the quantity of candy you plan to make.

  5. Handles: Many copper candy pans have long, sturdy handles that stay cool to the touch. This allows for easy handling and pouring of hot candy mixtures without the need for oven mitts or potholders.

  6. Maintenance: Copper pans require special care to maintain their appearance and functionality. They should be cleaned carefully with mild detergents and non-abrasive materials to prevent damage to the interior lining.

  7. Price: Copper pans tend to be more expensive than other types of cookware due to the high-quality materials and craftsmanship involved in their construction. However, they are considered an investment by serious candy makers and chefs.

  8. Alternatives: While copper pans are excellent for candy making, there are alternatives available, such as heavy-bottomed stainless steel or aluminum pans with copper cores. These offer some of the benefits of copper without the high cost.

In summary, copper pans for candy making are prized for their exceptional heat conductivity, precise temperature control, and even heat distribution. They are a valuable tool for anyone who enjoys making candies at home or in a professional kitchen. Proper care and maintenance are essential to ensure the longevity and effectiveness of these pans.

Question: DESCRIBE HANDLE
Answer: I do not have the long handles on my Anolon Nouvelle Copper. I have the 2 small handles on each side of my pots, (have 2). These handles stay cool while cooking and are the best pots I have ever cooked with, and I have been cooking for 46 years. The lids work great as far as sealing in moisture and allowing browning due to the heavy bottom. Personally I think long handles are more difficult to work with. Physical strength has a lot to do with it.
