User questions & answers
Question: | Can i use this atop my "camp chef flat top grill |
Answer: | Just saw this answer from a FTG600 customer (as we are), seems Camp Chef needs to replace some of their customer support people.... "Love love love this oven. We use it on the Camp Chef Flat Top Grill(much nicer griddle/grill then Blackstone) by removing the griddle top and setting it right on the grill grates of three burners. Heats up quickly! Basically by the time you have your toppings in the dough the oven is hot. We make a thicker crust with lots of toppings so use a lower temp. Have baked pies and quiche in it as well. Would buy again in a heartbeat." |
Question: | Does anyone have a carrier/storage bag for this pizza oven? If you do, can you please direct me to the one that works? We need to transport/store |
Answer: | I know this is an old question but I wanted to provide updated information for people like me who were looking for a bag. The bag you want for this is the Camp Chef BBQ Box Carry Bag. It's model number BB-90BAG and it specifically states it will fit the PZ90 Pizza Oven. If, for some reason, that bag number doesn't work, it's the one made for the BB90L BBQ box. |
Question: | Confusion. I am reading how many are using this on their grills, etc. Can't it be used on it's own? I read the descrip, making sure info is correct |
Answer: | There is a costlier Camp Chef propane powered oven with an integrated burner, it looks similar but is taller to incorporate the propane burner. This accessory oven DOES NOT have a burner, thus requires use of an external heat source - like your existing grill or outdoor stove top surface. About 16,000 BTU cooking power is required. |
Question: | can this oven work with any out door grills other than camp chef |
Answer: | Yes, it works with my old Weber Genesis gas grill. It is, however, a very tight fit, with only about 1/16" clearance on either side, and about 1-1/2" in front and back. The Weber grill lid must remain open, because the pizza oven is too large for the lid to close over it. I put a piece of aluminum foil over the oven opening during preheat and am able to get the oven to about 650-675 and the stone close to 600 degrees. If you use it with the Camp Chef burners, it sounds like you can get it a little hotter than that. |

User questions & answers
Question: | is there a carry bag for the pizza oven |
Answer: | I purchased the Camp Chef CB60UNV Stove Carry Bag for 2 Burner Grill it fits great. I also found a plastic bin at Lowe's for additional protected storage and ease of transport when camping. this method also allows for storage of the cutter, peels and spatula. |
Question: | Does it connect to Natural gas |
Answer: | This doesn't connect to any gas. It lays on top of a Camp Chef stove which uses propane tanks. The Camp Chef stove itself could probably be modified to accept natural gas. |
Question: | Will this fit on the camp chef Yukon |
Answer: | Yes. This item will fit on Camp Chef 2 burner stoves that are 14" deep. This includes the Yukon. Additional models that this fits are: EX60LW, EX60PP, EX60FP, EX60, YK60LW, YK60LWC12, DB60D, EX90LW. |
Question: | Will it work with the camp chef flat top grill |
Answer: | No this isn't designed to work with the Flat Top Grill. Unfortunately the dimensions are different and currently Camp Chef Doesn't make a Pizza Oven Accessory for the Flat Top Grill. |

User questions & answers
Question: | My goal is to use Caputo 00 flour which is best cooked at temperatures of 750+ resulting in pizza being done in 2 to 3 minutes. Has anyone tried this |
Answer: | My best pizza to date on this oven was a margarita at a 625 temp and on for about 6 or 7 minutes. The higher temps are OK if you only have one topping or so, but I felt I had more control with the lower temp, especially what making a combo pizza. Hope this helps. |
Question: | Will this oven get to temp in below zero temperatures |
Answer: | I used it in outside temperatures of 20° and it got to 700° but with door open it struggled to stay at 600° |
Question: | How wide is the actual oven. It says 31" in the product description but that's really large if it only cooks a 12" pizza. Are those box dimensions |
Answer: | You are right. The dimensions given are outside packaging dimensions, no the actual products OD. The products OD are 25 3/4w x 14 3/4d x 15"h approx. The stone is 20 x 13. When they say this item can reach 750/800 degrees in 15 minutes they ain't lying. I make perfectly done pizza in 3minutes or less. Read the start up institute tions very carefully as the stone is very fragile and susceptible to cracking from changing temps to fast. A week ago I ordered another one to gift to my brother in Michigan and was put on a waiting list. Good luck |
Question: | I have uses my pizza over twice and both times the pizzas are black and burnt on the bottom even after turning down the heat the second use. ideas |
Answer: | With all the energy coming from below the stone and then radiating upwards the difference between the two locations can be as much a 200°. Get a lasar temp guage and learn your oven. Now to solve the problem, get the stone hot ( put on high) then turn down to medium . Put your pizza in directly on stone until bottom is tan/brown. Then put a pizza pan under the pizza upside down to keep the pizza off the hot stone and finish cooking the top of the pizza. It takes a little experimenting to get it right but when you do this oven is better than a wood burning oven. What else would let u go from room temp to 750° in 15 minutes. Enjoy. I do most every night. |

User questions & answers
Question: | So is this the Titan (big one) or is this the original smaller stove |
Answer: | The Titan is the middle size. The Campfire is the big size. |
Question: | I just received this stove. Very nice. I purchased it for emergencies, primarily. Would it be okay to burn wood pellets |
Answer: | You can cut a circle of expanded metal or small mesh hardware cloth to fit to the top of the grate. Then the pellets will not fall through. 3oo grams of pellets will fit the burner, but if you dump them all in at once the fire will take a little longer to start but then will produce a much more intense fire than normal. It will work, but not as well as using the normal twigs or wood chunks. |
Question: | Is this stove and pot's, aluminum or stainless steel |
Answer: | Yep I agree with everything Ted C said (especially the dawn liquid - saves you from having sticky black pots for the remainder of your trip, until you get to some power tools :)Aluminum should definitely not be used above the Solo Stove if that's how you use them. I was easily able to obtain temperatures using nothing but hardwood coals and wind that were well in excess of Aluminum annealing point. I even got the CharBroil Stainless grill (portable) to glow bright red at the center of the heat. Basically the stove works so well that it is quite possible to achieve temperatures that are not exactly cooking safe with the wrong metals (particularly zinc and Aluminum and maybe anything with Teflon.) |
Question: | Is this considred an open fire which could be restriicted in some areas vs a fuel stove |
Answer: | Yes, this is technically an open fire. It's permissible in restricted fire areas that allow "contained" fires, such as barbecues or fire rings. Local regulations should always be consulted for areas with restrictions. This stove uses wood fuel, therefore sparks can leave the top of the combustion area. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What size is the flue pipe and can I get elbows for it |
Answer: | The description says 2 3/4" |
Question: | would i be able to use this lightly in a colemen 14x10 feet tent |
Answer: | No, yes you will have to burn off the cheap paint first before you ever use this on a camping trip. Then paint it with the high temperature paint for barbecue grills. You can get from Lowes or Home Depot. But back to the tent itself, the material itself is only fire resistant and could start to melt or catch fire especially if it has been sprayed with a water proofing spray. And I would guess this tent doesn't have a stove jack in the roof either. |
Question: | Alaska is part of the United states. Why when I try to order does it say no international shipping |
Answer: | Unless you are paying Air Mail, it's going over the Canadian Border, which is an international border. |
Question: | I cant ship to canada why is that |
Answer: | Princess Auto has the same stove for less roomies and ships to Canada |

User questions & answers
Question: | how well does the larger (Titan) stove work with an alcohol stove placed within it ... specifically a titanium Evernew brand alcohol stove |
Answer: | toaks 1600 ti |
Question: | Looking for a pot/cook set this will fit in, that is not the solo stove pot. Thanks |
Answer: | ok, weird and creative answer. I have grilled using this before but its a bit different. Get a decent fire going. drop larger (half dollar size) round rocks in it one at a time and try to keep the fire going. eventually you will end up with a stove of hot rocks. As soon as it wont support a flame throw a piece of mesh or grill on it and have at it. It generally wont flare up and if it does itll be mild. just keep the rocks a few inches from the mesh/grill. Now I'm not saying this is the greatest way to grill or even the most practical but I didn't have a pot and didn't feel like making a skewer and babysitting it, And I just happened to have some steel mesh in my bag for use as a divider. Good luck and be safe. P.S. make sure the rocks aren't wet or cold. |
Question: | Can you grill small amounts of meats on it (with a separate grill of course |
Answer: | Of course it does. It is holding a fire. How clean your fire burns is dependent upon how dry your fire-materials are. I got very little soot while using charcoal (also the longest burn), but all materials are going to make water & soot/CO2 as gas byproducts. The water condenses on the pot and makes a sooty film on whatever metal pot you are heating. This little stove does a fine job of burning almost smoke free, but it still makes some soot, and a nice little pile of ashes on the inside as well. |
Question: | Does the stove get sooty and dirty after use? Does it depend on what you burn |
Answer: | Thank you for your question. The stand has a 9" diameter cast iron base and the total set stands 23"H. The weight is 17 lb. |

Your Best Hiking/Camping Gear
Say goodbye to heavy, costly, polluting petrol fuels. It’s not safe for long transportation. You either take too much with you, having to carry that extra weight, or you don't take enough, risking running out of it too soon.

User questions & answers
Question: | Picture is a pro60 and the description says it is a pro60x. which is it |
Answer: | I'm sure you could, but it might have extra amount of vitamins that you don't need (folic acid comes to mind). This brand also carries a great multivitamin for men and women. My husband recently started using their vitamin for men. |
Question: | What is the height |
Answer: | Now they are $44! I use to pay $24 for 2 different years I have used them. Now I'm going to try another because of the huge price increase |
Question: | Does this stove included the regulator and the hose |
Answer: | These do not include DHA. Rainbow Light does have a Prenatal Daily Duo that comes with Prenatal One and Prenatal DHA Smart Essentials. |
Question: | What does it weigh |
Answer: | Anyone who is confused, please look into it. Methylated Folate is important, especially if you have not had genetic testing to rule out having the MTHFR gene. In that case folic acid becomes a bigger problem. Look up MTHFR and folate vs folic acid. It is newer info but very very real and serious. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Where is it made from |
Answer: | Looking at the previous answers, looks like it used to be made in the usa, but now it looks like it's made in china. In the product details, it says it's made in china as of 5-28-17. |
Question: | can i use it without the legs? or what's the lowest i can adjust the legs to |
Answer: | No, you cannot use it without the legs. I looked at this too. The propane connection assembly extends lower than the metal shield around the burner. The legs do not have a lot of adjustment, maybe an inch or two. I have the stove packed away with my camping gear and cannot verify the exact amount of adjustment or lowest cooking height. |
Question: | I would purchase this to do pressure canning outside. Is there a problem with the weight of a full canner |
Answer: | Weight is not the issue with outside canning..... Too much heat on the thin aluminum canner bottoms is the issue. https://www.healthycanning.com/pressure-canner-heat-source/#heat-source-too-high Most everyone agrees to definitely avoid any “turkey fryer” propane heaters because of the high heat required to boil the oil to fry the turkey would damage many canners. Some people say, however, that there are some safe outdoor heat sources — ones with adjustable temperature controls such as the Camp Chef line. “Only Camp Chef brand 2 burner stove on low is the only safe one we know of.” 4 |
Question: | How much weight can this handle? I am hosting a lobster bake so I am figuring about 45 pounds/ 21kg will be on the unit at any given time. Thank you |
Answer: | I came here to look up this answer. I can say that I've had mine since 2015 and have routinely mashed and boiled wort on the burner. Over 7 gallons. Which would be around 56 pounds. I may have even doubled this up once with two batches at the same time. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you wear hot pants while cooking on this |
Answer: | No, it does not. |
Question: | Does this unit include a griddle, as other models do |
Answer: | Yes. And they lock in place (open and closed) with a push knob like you would find on the leg of a pop-up canopy |
Question: | Does the legs fold in |
Answer: | This stove, as you mentioned, does not come with the grill box, but it comes With 4 things the big gas grill doesn't have. 1) leg levelers for setting up on uneven ground 2) 2 shelves instead of one 3) windscreen 4) collapsible legs |
Question: | Why should I choose this model over the big gas grill that is $12 cheaper AND comes with a 2 burner BBQ box |
Answer: | The Titan works excellent with a variety of alcohol stoves. I'm not familiar with the Evernew Titanium model, but if it fits inside a 4" cylinder and is not more than 4" tall it should work very well. I have used a large Sterno can in mine and it works fantastic. It's a good option for ice camping where there is no wood. Honestly though, the Titan works so well with any wood or solid fuel that you may find you won't need the alcohol stove at all. There is another feature of the Titan that allows it to burn any liquid fuel, the ash pan is water tight and can hold about a cup of any liquid. It will burn intensely for about 15 min with a pan full of alcohol. |

About Camp Chef:
Great tasting food will always bring people together and Camp Chef has that figured out. As an industry leading manufacture for more than 20 years, Camp Chef produces high quality products offering efficient ways to cook for almost any outdoor gathering. From social functions to campouts or even dinner on the back patio, Camp Chef can do it all.
In 1990, Camp Chef was established on the idea that there just had to be a better way to cook outdoors. The founder and president of the company, Ty Measom, recognized many campers and sportsman had an interest in outdoor cooking but were struggling with what cooking equipment was available to them. That is when he designed a stove that would meet the needs of the avid outdoorsman.
That simple stove design later became the Pro 60 and evolved to include the most versatile cooking system on the market by incorporating accessories to simplify and diversify any outdoor menu. BBQ boxes, flattop griddles, and pizza ovens now give users the ability to grill, griddle, bake, boil, brew fry, stream, and even cook Dutch oven - all on a single Camp Chef stove.
After being in the campsite for nearly 10 years, Camp Chef began producing quality cast iron cookware with its signature True-Seasoned Finish. Another 10 years later Camp Chef addressed the demand for a versatile outdoor cooking system at home. Today there are several stoves, smokers, fire pits and more, designed specifically with the home and patio in mind. However, the roots of the company are in the great outdoors, continuing to give people the opportunity to experience nature without sacrificing a hearty meal.
Camp Chef is located in the heart of Cache Valley, Utah, surrounded by the beautiful Bear River Mountain Range, a perfect site for product testing. Each product is a result of Camp Chef's dedication to outdoor cooking and its pledge to improve and create new products that fulfill the needs of its highly valued customers.

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the actual hole size for the pipe... I want to use actual stove pipes not that retractable thing it came with |
Answer: | A strong 4-15/16". Thats what mine measures anyway. The pipe it comes with slides down the hole a bit as its crimped. |
Question: | Is this stove a cheap chinese knockoff of the original american made cylinder stove |
Answer: | Absolutely not!!!! I bought this for emergency uses....but used it once to test it out. I was very surprised how heavy it was. I expected some cheap tin like box......but it is very heavy and solid. The legs could be a little more stable but with some tinkering I know I could sturdy them up a little. |
Question: | at the very bottom and front, how far apart are the feet of the legs? going to get a drip pan and need to know how large it needs to be |
Answer: | Here's a thought....why not put patio blocks under the entire stove !That way, you can make sure the area around the outside of the legs is protected also !! |
Question: | Does this unit burn clean....no smoke. Could it be used in small home ? Any safety concerns |
Answer: | I put mine in the fireplace, cut the legs off to be about 3" long and got some articulating 4" stove-pipe angles to get the smoke up the chimney. I then used the first piece of stove pipe that came with this and moved the flue to the bottom. Want no or very little smoke? BEFORE YOU OPEN THE FRONT STOVE DOOR - open the flue all the way - then open the draft louvers in the front - let it draft for a minute then open the door. I've had VERY little smoke get in. But - it is IMPORTANT to make sure the flue is intalled or the fire will burn VERY fast and the stove-pipe will get VERY hot. When everything is closed down the sides and top of the stove can reach 700 degrees easily - but the stove pipe is about 250-350 degrees. I have a digital temperature gage and check regularly. See my review for my setup. |
