Answer:	Yes, remove the rubber ring before putting in dishwasher. Hand wash ring.

Answer:	No. It would be hard to get the metal parts off. If you are not interested in using the metal part and do not care about the integrity of the metal you could take it off.

Answer:	Yes, They are fine for refrigerator. I was hoping they would be better quality. the glass is fine. The seals are adequate. The closure/latch mechanism is cheap and a couple have leaked when laid on their sides.

Answer:	I am not positive but I would not try it. I don’t think the seal is good enough for canning

Question:	can you can sanitarily with those lids
Answer:	they come with 16 silicone rings... seal tight - no drips or leaks if they are filled with liquid and they are turned sideways... Ball makes plastic lids that seal without any silicone rings (different design) - but they're more expensive... only downside with these is if you use a dishwasher, it is possible the silicone ring could come out and perhaps mess up something - we hand wash everything...

Answer:	Spicy Monkey tells it true. The same goes for any brand of any sort of product you can imagine. Very little is made OUTSIDE of China now, and nothing made outside of China is inexpensive. If you want inexpensive, then you want Chinese.

Just put it around the small hole you made for your antenna and it will look like it was made to be that way. The cover stays on well using the built in elastic corners. I've never used my bottom strap.

Answer:	These lids can't be used for canning. I use them on my jars that I store my dehydrated things in . They are not safe for canning.

Answer:	The inner diameter is about 3 1/4 and the outside measures 3 1/2. So far these have only worked on my mason/ball/Kerr jars and not the big Adams peanut butter jars.

Answer:	Yeah it is no silicone gasket on these particular lids.. but the metal Ball-brand lids do have a silicone gasket.
Question:	Are these any different than the ball plastic storage caps? better/worse
Answer:	These have a small plastic lip on the inside at the top of the lid which is supposed to act as a sort of "flange" to help make the lid leak proof. So you can put liquid in it, crank the lid on real tight, flip it upside down, and not have it leak everywhere. Otherwise, they're functionally the same if you don't need the "leakproof" function.
Question:	so... no silicone gasket on the Ball-brand lids as in the other lids, eh? lots of comments about leaking
Answer:	We do not recommend baking in any size or shape of Ball or Kerr canning jars. The glass used for Ball and Kerr canning jars is not tempered for oven use and is not meant to be used as bakeware. The jars are safe to use for home canning recipes, cold or room temperature food storage, cold beverages, and crafting.
