3 best one cup coffee maker
A one-cup coffee maker, also known as a single-serve coffee maker or single-cup brewer, is a popular kitchen appliance designed for brewing a single cup of coffee at a time. These machines have gained significant popularity due to their convenience and ability to brew a fresh cup of coffee quickly. Here are some key points about one-cup coffee makers:
Single Serving Size: One-cup coffee makers are designed to brew coffee in small, individual servings. This allows users to customize their coffee to their preferred strength and flavor, making it suitable for households with diverse coffee preferences.
Variety of Beverages: Many one-cup coffee makers are versatile and can brew various types of beverages, including coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and even iced beverages. They often come with compatible pods or capsules for different drink options.
Pods or Capsules: One of the defining features of these coffee makers is the use of pre-packaged coffee pods or capsules. These are single-serving containers that contain ground coffee or other ingredients needed for brewing. Users simply insert a pod, press a button, and the machine brews the coffee.
Convenience: One-cup coffee makers are prized for their speed and simplicity. They typically brew a cup of coffee in just a few minutes, making them ideal for busy mornings or when you only want a single cup.
Minimal Cleanup: Since the coffee is brewed directly into a cup, there's minimal cleanup involved. There's no need for a coffee pot or filters, reducing the post-brewing mess.
Customization: Many one-cup coffee makers allow users to adjust the strength and size of their coffee by selecting different brewing options. This customization can cater to individual taste preferences.
Brands and Models: Various brands offer one-cup coffee makers, including Keurig, Nespresso, and others. Each brand may have its own proprietary pod system and features.
Size and Design: These coffee makers come in a range of sizes and designs, from compact machines suitable for small kitchens to larger models with advanced features.
Price Range: The price of one-cup coffee makers can vary widely depending on the brand, features, and build quality. Some models are more budget-friendly, while others are considered premium.
Environment and Sustainability: The use of single-serving pods has raised environmental concerns due to the generation of plastic waste. Some brands have responded by introducing recyclable or reusable pods to address these concerns.
One-cup coffee makers have become a popular choice for individuals and households seeking a quick and convenient way to enjoy coffee or other hot beverages. Their versatility and ease of use make them a convenient addition to the kitchen for coffee and tea enthusiasts.

Great for commuters, office professionals, and one-coffee-drinker households, this personal coffeemaker brews 15 ounces of coffee directly into a stainless-steel travel mug. The mug has a rubber handle for a safe grip and a lid to keep coffee hot. It's tapered to a 2-1/2-inch-diameter bottom, so it fits most vehicle cup holders. The coffeemaker itself is designed for an on-the-go coffee drinker. It has a permanent filter--no messy disposable paper filters required--and shuts off automatically after brewing. The mug, filter, filter basket, and mug lid are dishwasher-safe, and the coffeemaker can also be used to heat water for tea, hot chocolate, and instant foods like oatmeal and soup. Made of gleaming black plastic, it measures 9-3/4 inches high, 7 inches wide, and 6 inches deep, and carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack Troubleshooting Steps: Brewing Coffee – 1.) Lift the one-piece cover. Pour one full mug of cold water into the water reservoir. 2.) Place the permanent filter into the filter basket. Add ground coffee, (we recommend approximately 2 ½ tablespoons). Close the cover. 3.) Remove the lid from the travel mug and add sweetener, cream or milk to the mug before brewing; replace the lid. Place the mug on the mug rest directly under the filter basket opening. 4.) Press the power switch and the power indicator light will illuminate. The coffeemaker and power indicator light turn off automatically when brewing is done. Allow the coffee to finish dripping from the unit before removing your travel mug. Note: There will be slightly less coffee in your travel mug than the amount of water added, as the grounds absorb some of the liquid.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you use ground coffee |
Answer: | It's a percolator, it's made for ground coffee |
Question: | can i use loose ground coffee, no pods or k-cups |
Answer: | Yes. It's designed for loose ground coffee. I like to use a #2 filter, but it has a washable screen if you prefer. Brews fast and adding a paper filter allows me to clean up fast. |
Question: | What shape and size filter should I use, since I find them easier for clean-up? Thanks |
Answer: | I make my own filters from paper towels! One towel makes four filters. Cut the paper towel in fourths. Turn the mesh filter upside down and form the 1/4 of a paper towel over it by spritzing water on the paper towel, and folding and tucking the sides of the towel over the ends of the mesh filter. I have even marked my mesh filters so it is simple to position the 1/4 of a paper towel correctly. Leave the paper filter(s) to dry and then you can use the paper filter instead of the mesh one. I'm thinking about making a video, since it is very simple to do, but not so simple to describe. (You do still need to use the little holder that the mesh filter would have fit down in, to hold the paper filter upright, and to drain the water correctly through the grounds, but you don't use the mesh filter and the paper filter at the same time.) Then I fold my eight filters and store them in a canister until needed. I have purchased eight of these coffee makers so that I could have eight mesh filters and thereby, have eight new paper filters made at a time, but that's just me. The last time I bought this coffee maker was in February of 2012, and I am still (as of Christmas 2018) using the first two coffee makers. The others are tucked safely away in case either of these stops. We also have a more-famous single-serve coffee maker for when company comes over, but I much prefer this one. I use the stainless steel cup as my mini coffee decanter and always have coffee in my cup that is the perfect temperature for me. |
Question: | Do standard size coffee mugs fit in this brewers base? Or do you need to use a travel size mug |
Answer: | Yes, depending on the height and diameter. I personally don't like the included travel mug, and have several ceramic coffee mugs that I've used for years. However, the base of the Black & Decker is only 3.5" diameter, so several of my mugs that are about 4.5" diameter end up tipping off the base and spilling. And, since there's only 5.25" of height for a mug, the 6" tall mugs I have that will fit on the base can't be accommodated because of height. Although this is a great brewer in terms of coffee temperature and speed, about the only 15-ounce mug that it will accommodate is its own travel mug. I ordered it to brew 15 ounces instead of the 8 ounces or so that most single-serve brewers are designed for, but end up having to brew into the provided travel mug and then pour the coffee into my own ceramic mug. Messy and inconvenient. Perhaps B&D will either increase the height or diameter to accommodate a "real" 15-ounce ceramic mug one of these days. |

The Scoop Single-Serve Coffee Maker
The Scoop Single-Serve Coffeemaker goes where no coffeemaker has gone before, brewing hotter, faster and better-tasting coffee than most gourmet machines out there. And, its benefits don’t stop there. The Scoop Coffeemaker utilizes the simplicity of ground coffee and brews a customizable cup quickly: an 8 oz. cup in less than 90 seconds or a 14 oz. travel mug in under two-and-a-half minutes.
1) Scoop
2) Place
3) Brew
Differing Boldness Levels
With The Scoop Coffeemaker, versatility is key. Whether you decide to go with a mainstream brand coffee or stronger premium-brand coffee, you need a machine that understands and quickly adapts. Use the REGULAR setting for a quick basic, automatic drip coffee, or get an upgrade and choose BOLD for more fine grinds, decaf or stronger flavors.
Measuring Proportions Appropriately
Not sure how much coffee to add when brewing? No worries — each scoop filter is labeled with two measuring lines for exact serving amounts. And more isn’t necessarily better, in this case. Overfilling the scoop doesn’t allow room for brewing and water can overflow and spill over, ultimately meaning weaker coffee.
Adjusting the Cup Size
Before brewing, adjust the L-shaped cup rest to make sure your cup is as close to the dispensing nozzle as possible. For travel mugs, fit the cup rest against the coffeemaker and place your mug on top of the drip tray.
