Answer:	Each coffee grinder comes with a cleaning brush you can use to clean the inside of the grinder (conical burr) as well as the base near the dial.

Answer:	The burr is slightly less than 1.5 inches measured from the outer rim.
Question:	How many holes are in the cone
Answer:	There's no magnet on the crank handle. However, the shaft goes fairly deep into the handle and the handle doesn't have an issue of falling off.

Answer:	The grinding chamber can hold 1 ounce of beans which is 28 grams - just enough to brew 2.5 cups of coffee if you use 2 tablespoons of grinds per cup :)

Answer:	We use the Melitta #4 filters. These will handle 4-6 cups of the drip brew.
Question:	I understand that Melitta's newest carafes are not glass lined, but are stainless lined. Is this one glass lined
Answer:	If you're looking to Buy American, I recommend ANY Melitta product because they do employ people here in the US, and they produce awesome, well-made items. Maybe not made here, but most of the electric kitchen items are junk lately. It's hard to say and I can't find any info one way or the other about the carafe set. Melitta is a German company. They have a paper filter manufacturing plant in Clearwater FL. And they have a coffee roastery in Cherry Hill NJ. They produce a wide range of coffee and tea makers, but I also no longer have my electric tea kettle box as to where that was made. I had that kettle for over ten years (2002 - 2013) before it stopped working. I don't know of any others that have that long a life. I replaced it with another electric kettle and it lasted only 4 months. We tossed it out this past week. I'm getting another Melitta kettle soon.
Question:	Is there any way to clean inside the lid when it accumulates build-up inside
Answer:	There is just one hole in the cone.
Question:	Is the mouth of the carafe large enough to get my hand in for cleaning? And is there a lid for the carafe
Answer:	Although I don't have the pot at my current location to check it for sure, I believe 36 ounces would be the total as they consider a "cup" to be 6 ozs. When I make two twelve ounce cups with the pour over method that brings the level exactly to the 4 cup level, which from memory is about the half way point, so you should be able to get at least 36 oz if not a little more with a full pot. I can verify for you early next week if you would like to know the exact capacity. It's a handy little carafe for making just a couple large mugs of coffee at a time, and versatile enough to use either the #4 Melitta or #2 Hario cones on top.

Answer:	Stainless Steel inside, I left hot tea in this pot and the temp was at 98 deg. 20 hrs. later. a very good pot.

Answer:	I use OxyClean and it works very well. I don't need a brush after soaking for an hour with hot water. The lid top also unlocks and you can clean the inside as well. The silicone gasket has turned brown on the lid and it's impossible to restore. It's too bad Melitta doesn't sell a replacement for this o-ring.
Question:	What is the diameter of the bottom of this item? I have an oversized coffee mug and am wondering if this will sit securely on top
Answer:	Yes!! The mouth of the carafe is large enough to get your hand in to clean inside. The lid of the carafe screws on to keep the coffee hot ( all day ) after brewing with the cone is finished. We really enjoy this product.

Answer:	It does go to a wedge with a rounded bottom, can’t speak to ‘tightness’, and has a single hole.

Answer:	It measures 4 3/8" across the bottom. if your mug is bigger then you could lay a couple of sticks across it and place the coffeemaker on that.

Question:	Is it dishwasher safe
Answer:	We have used this maker for about 15 yrs now. We heat the water to 180*, pour it over freshly ground coffee, and the savor the taste of the best coffee around. As I’m pouring the water into the cone, I fill it and the stir the coffee around. I fill our thermos directly and the maybe a coffee cup or two with the remaining water. I buy a case of the filters from Amazon. Good luck and enjoy the best coffee around.
Question:	Is there a spout cover to keep the coffee warm
Answer:	They are, in fact, surprisingly strong, much stronger in fact than other coffee carafes I've used. I've broken literally only one in the 30+ years I've been using them, and that I when I accidentally knocked it rather hard, squarely into the sink faucet. Of course, if you drop it on the floor, it will probably break (and personally, I'd replace it anyway since they're cheap and I'd be concerned about a stress fracture happening sooner rather than later.)
Question:	Is the pot microwave safe
Answer:	That will likely not work and be to wide-depending on the size of your carafe. However, Melitta makes a smaller filter that is designed to fit travel mugs/ carafes.... I have both big and small and they are both excellent!
Question:	does the pot keep coffee hot
Answer:	Yes, you can use regular coffee filters with this maker, but it's A LOT more difficult. I can't seem to find melitta #6 filters anywhere, but they do sell melitta #4 at Walmart. The #4 filters are cone filters just like the #6, only a bit smaller. #4s are cheap and you just can't pour quite as much coffee in at one time.

Answer:	I contacted Melitta regarding what plastic they use for this product. The answer is Polypropylene (PP), identification code "5" It can take boiling water and up to 340 °F (171 °C).
Question:	What size filters does it use and are they easy to find
Answer:	I poured in the water two or three times when making each cup, letting the water filter through before pouring again. Otherwise, most of the grounds just get pushed up on the side. I didn't find the coffee weak, and I'm fond of espresso.

Answer:	Hello fellow Amazon buyer! I have this coffee pot and like it a lot. I pour boiling water into the porcelain pot before making coffee. The pot heats up and when I am ready to pour through, I empty the hot water from the pot into my coffee cup. The result is coffee that is actually hotter than coffee made in electric coffee pots that are boiling water drop by drop. In electric pots, the water loses the heat rapidly. So, it is possible to get a very hot, fresh cup of coffee from the Melitta. However, the heat does dissipate. I use a dishtowel to cover the pot if any coffee is going to sit for a while. I hope that I have answered your question! I do recommend the coffee maker.

Answer:	If I get your question, I know of NO single cup devices that will fill 16oz in 1 POUR of water. Drip coffee is inherently slow. I can get a 16oz mug filled in 3-4 "pours".

Answer:	I received 4 Braidz scrub pads with a box of Melitta coffee filters and a Melitta filter holder. The scrub pads are thin, easy to hold, and I believe these pads won't scratch glass, plastic, enamel, formica or stone countertops. In other words, the pads are versatile and easy to use. I don't know how to get morr.

Answer:	It fits into most mugs, and into some to-go /thermos types too. Size wise works with 12 oz paper cup. But would not recommend brewing into paper. Just be sure it is fitting inside the mug, unless you are very coordinated. Spilling the hot mixture is dangerous...of course.

Answer:	I really have no idea. I don't use it in the microwave. I heat water and use with a filter. I use it daily and is my lifesaver instead of a machine for only one person.

Answer:	The black and red items pictured are plastic. Melitta does make a ceramic, which is white. I have all three and plastic or ceramic doesn't effect the coffee at all. The only difference is when you accidentally bump the ceramic one off of the cup onto to your marble counter top, you'll wish you had plastic.,

Answer:	I doubt it, since it works just fine here in the USA. It came with a 110v plug.

Answer:	5 CUP

Answer:	NO !! This product comes from Japan where they use same plug as U.S. but 100V. The coffee maker will run too hot on U.S. 120V. You will need a step down converter (120V to 100V) to use in the U.S. Be careful reading converter specifications since most converters for sale are for Europe or other countries and do not convert 120V to 110V.
