The screws are made of stainless steel materials which will not rust or loosen easily. Please tighten the screws to prevent the beaker from falling off after removing them for cleaning.(The glass could be easily take off from the metal frame for properly clean.) If the screws became loosen, use a screwdriver to tighten it and then you can continue to use the french press.

The filters are polished (so don't worry about being hurt) and can be taken off by twisting. With one hand fixing the knob on the top of the plunger, you can use the other hand to twist the filter screen holder/plate anticlockwise. My guess is for child and pet safety reasons. The warfarin active can kill and I guess if a hawk or fox eats a poisoned mouse.....Unfortunately, the old snap trap is the way to go. Glue traps are inhumane.

Answer:	I'm quite unsure. Mine came with a vented plate, and a screen, which seem standard fair for all French Presses. Suffice to say, I don't have a 'true' second screen. With that in mind, I personally find that my coffee has no sediment issues. I mean, there is always some silt in FP coffee, but it's very fine and pretty minimal. I guess where I'm going is that the second screen may not even be a need for many. Preferences being what they are, this is the best FP I've owned. I'm tired of busting glass. The metal also holds the temperature very well, longer than a glass beaker for sure. My best guess on the second screen is that if you unscrew the plunger parts, you may see how the second screen attaches then. With no practice of my own, I'm only guessing. Good luck on finding a more solid answer.

Answer:	My 12oz Mira French Press actually has the word MIRA imprinted on the bottom/outside of the pot. I have had mine for about a year & love it! It’s very well made & the double wall construction helps to keep the coffee warm. I am now looking for a slightly larger one now & plan to buy the 21 oz size.
