I was looking for a metal nut to replace the plastic one that comes with the Bodum Brazil 51oz that stripped on mine. Turns out the larger cold brew press comes with a metal one which I was able to switch out with the plastic from the Brazil. Apparently the plastic isn't dishwasher safe. But for 20 bucks just get a new press. Crazy |

| Answer: | You heat your water in a pot on the stove first. Now that said, my parents have a water cooler that has both cold and hot water dispensers. It's pretty close to boiling but not enough if you ask me when it comes to making coffee correctly. Because our stove top has all small burners, we purchased the Cuisinart PerfecTemp Cordless Programmable Kettle. This thing boils water in about a minute vs. our gas stove top burner which takes almost 10min. So to conclude, DO NOT put the French Press on the stove! Grind your beans in burr grinder first and dump into press. Boil water wherever else you prefer and pour in when it is boiling! I feel water at 212*F really releases the aroma from the bean best. Hope it helps. Also, we do not use that French Press anymore as it poorly designed. Looks great, but failure to launch. There is no screw that you can tighten the metal sleeve with so the glass beaker tends to slip out. No es bueno. I would strongly suggest you go with the original bodum french press.
