Answer:	Only happens if you don't cycle with clear water and no coffee a couple of times after the cleaning cycle.

Answer:	My particular coffee machine KRUPS KM9008 recommends mixing powder with 16 ounces of water,pouring into the water fill tank,and starting the machine. Be sure to remove filter first,if your machine has one! .Allow half of the liquid to run through,then switch off machine and let stand for 1 hour.then restart machine to complete the brewing cycle.Discard liquid and rinse machine by running it through 2 full cycles with water only.

Answer:	There are only two packages in this box and I ended up using half a package of the crystals at a time, getting four uses out of the box. I did purchase another item that comes in a three pack with four packets in each for a total of 12 uses by Urnex Dezcal for about the same price. Just received them and have not tried them, but the Krups worked very well and if these do not work as well, I will purchase the Krups again. I have fairly hard water and need to use the product more frequently than most do. There are no instructions with it, but another poster had suggested dissolving the crystals in half a pot of water, pour in coffee maker, let it begin to filter through, turn off the coffee maker and let it sit for about 20 minutes and then turn on again. That worked very well, and then run a couple of pots using just plain water to completely clean the unit before brewing a pot of coffee.

So even when placed under the kitchen cabinets (moderately deep), the front panel of the machine tends to be further ahead of where the cabinets front portion ends. All the steam produced is right at the front panel (from the spout). Hence, it never really hits the cabinet. Our older drip coffee machine had more steam hitting the cabinets than this.

Answer:	No, absolutely not! You need it to filter any particulate. Suggest you run a 2nd cleaning cycle w/o cleaning tablets so you get a full flush. Works well for me. Added thought, use the least oily, driest beans you can find to avoid needing to have the grinder mechanism cleaned.

It gives me a chance to clean under it and the machine slides out quite easily. Honestly, I highly recommend this machine. I had a DeLonghi espresso machine before and this one is far superior!

Question:	If I got this it would be replacing a 30 year old krups machine that just crapped out. Are all the negative reviews accurate
Answer:	I had two of the older model Krups steam espresso machines over a 222 year period. Used them constantly and even took them on vacation with me. When I had to replace the last one I bought this "redesigned" model with the domed screw top. With 22 years of experience making espresso with these little steam models, I was shocked and horrified when the new machine started to spit and leak and spew super-heated grounds in a 6-foot radius. I unplugged, let it cool down cleaned it up, tried again. Same thing. I now own a "Bella" steam espresso maker which costs a bit less and works like the old Krups.
Question:	What is the distance from the top of the frothing nozzle to the counter? Can I get a 20oz. frothing cup under it or do I need a 12oz cup? Thank you
Answer:	The distance is a few inches. You can get both sizes of frothing cups under it. I have found that the shape of the cup makes a difference in the frothing: a bulbous shape works better than a straight-sided shape. And it takes practice to get the milk both frothed and heated.

Question:	how do I it to steam only for cream infusion
Answer:	It's more tricky than it should be. It depends on how much water you put in the reservoir, and you need to experiment a bit. It also depends on what kind of milk/cream vessel you use. I bought a pitcher (stainless steel with handle), and it doesn't do as much foam as my old wider stainless sugar bowl. Put in some water, enough so when you wiggle the machine you can see water about an inch below the "X" of metal in the water reservoir. Close the reservoir lid tightly. Turn the dial on the left to "steam" icon. Wait. (Make sure you have the black plastic foamer pushed into place over the metal fixed steam outlet). When you see steam escaping (not just water), place your milk (I use 2%) under the black plastic steamer outlet, try not to have the bottom of the steamer touch the bottom of your milk container, get the foam you want, then turn off the steamer by rotating the left hand steam indicator back--all steam will immediately stop. I understand that using cream makes less foam, but it will warm up the cream nicely. I never use cream, so I do not know for sure. Good luck, and play around a bit with the water level to see what works best for use. My previous Krups was easier to use--I could see the water level better, but this is what is available now.
Question:	My carafe broke. So I can use it in the meantime, how many ounces = 2 cups line on the carafe
Answer:	16 ounces would be the 'standard' answer if the carafe uses American standards. But if it's British, then 20 would be the capacity.

Answer:	9 inches deep, plus 3inches if carafe handle points forward, 10.5 knches tall, 11 inches wide including coffee receptacle handle. They don't make this model anymore so buy it now because the newer version is not as good or sturdy. This is my second mini and I also owned the newer model.

Answer:	The basket is 2" in diameter and 1.25" deep. I never use a tamper so have no idea in that regard.

Answer:	Very hot coffee every morning. If you want it hotter you can also steam your milk.
Question:	How long does this machine take to brew a full pot of coffee
Answer:	We had problems brewing regular coffee. Sometimes it brewed quickly and other times the water accumulated in the basket and wouldn't go into the coffee pot, making a mess. We returned it.
Question:	What is the depth of this machine? How big is coffee carafe
Answer:	Diane, I just measured from the very front above the coffee pot to the back where it would touch your wall is 11" and the coffee carafe is larger than your normal one. In order to be completely accurate with the cup size I filled the pot up to the exact line which reads 8-10 on the pot, then transferred that to my liquid measuring pitcher and it reads 5.5 cups, which of course makes no sense so I did it again...lol. Sure enough it's 5.5 cups. This is below the line of the actual pot though too, when I make coffee in this I fill it up to the top, so I'd say it's closer to an 8 cup pot. Does this help?
Question:	How much espresso does this make and is it a problem making steamed milk
Answer:	It is a standard espresso size (4 servings max). However, the steam downspout is very short. Therefore, 1) you'll need to place something under your carafe which will allow the downspout to be submerged in the milk or 2) stand there and hold the carafe until the milk is warmed. Bottom line, I returned this model due to its overall flimsiness and inconvenience - namely the downspout and the fact the coffee filter holder does not stay open while trying to put coffee grounds into it. I do NOT recommend this model. I do, however, recommend KRUPS' previous model (XP1500). This model is much more durable (check out this link: http://www1.macys.com/shop/search?keyword=XP1500). My first XP1500 lasted 7 years, I then upgraded to the XP1600 and was HIGHLY disappointed which led me to immediately returning this model to Amazon for a full refund.
