User questions & answers

Question: Is this one of the Bunn products that is made in the USA
Answer: mine was a few years ago. It was the LAST USA coffee maker. Someone needs to call Bunn. Great people in Illinois, when I got a free new sprayhead. Try that with those other chinese call centers in India
Question: I'm not comfortable with the reservoir being on at all times. If the reservoir is off, does it need to be filled and turned on before brewing a pot
Answer: I'm buying this for one I had for many years that died. I only have coffee in the morning so I set a timer to heat the reservoir early enough to beat me up and have it shut off after you would have your last cup. A 5 hour window safely covers any possible time I have coffee. You can always plug in into a live socket on the occasion when you may have guests or want coffee at an unusual time. I just can't see heating water 24 hours a day. It has to be a good grounded timer that can handle the load of the coffee maker. A cheap timer made for a light isn't adequate or safe for a coffee maker. The timer I use is rated at 1875 W and the coffee maker's tank heater and stay warm heater is 900 W when both are activated. It is double the load of the coffee maker at maximum operating conditions. There are not expensive, probably $10-$12, do not skimp and chance burning your house down or worse.
Question: is bunn coffee makers made in the USA
Answer: After speaking to corporate headquarters, the Bunn residential coffee makers: GR, BX, BT and SPEED BREW are all made in the USA. The NHS Velocity, in corporate wording is made "overseas", which I take means China since it is clearly written on the box as some of you have stated. If you have a different model, whether commercial or residential, and are curious to where it is manufactured, call the corporate headquarters. They are very helpful. 1-800-352-2866
Question: What is the difference between Bunn BXB, GRB, and NHBB
Answer: Joanne, I'm so sorry. I wish I could help you but I have no idea. Probably the gadgets on the unit and the price--maybe even when they were offered for sale. I don't know about much except that I LOVE A BUNN! It makes the best coffee and it makes it in 3 minutes, flat. I'm sure, knowing BUNN as I do, that anyone of them would be perfect for you. Sorry I cannot be more specific. I've had 3 different ones (I'm now 63 years old) and I hope I don't ever have to purchase anything but a BUNN!

User questions & answers

Question: Can you choose the amount you want to brew? Can it do a small amount, just one or two cups at a time
Answer: There is no setting for number of cups to brew. You can, however, pour the amount of water you want to brew into the water intake compartment at the top of the coffee maker. For example, if you want to brew two cups of coffee, fill your coffee cup with water twice and pour it into water intake opening. The coffee maker will brew that amount of coffee.
Question: do you need the pitcher for water or can you use the carafe
Answer: I have the BT version of this coffee maker. It is the best coffee maker I have ever purchased! You can use the carafe, but I use a pitcher. If I know that the coffee will sit for a little bit, I rinse the pot with hot water to help keep the coffee hot in the carafe. My BT version makes fantastic coffee fast!
Question: ready to buy a new Bunn. Bad reviews on the model chosen reference to the epoxy smells had this been resolved
Answer: Mine is Great . No smell at all. I really like the stainless steel pot and it automatically turns off . So you don't have to worry about forgetting to turn it off
Question: What are the height and depth of the carafe
Answer: The depth is 12.5 inches, height is 15 inches. Easiest and quick coffee brewing. I had a ninja, was great at first but had issues and ninja replaced my first one after a year and the second one worked well for a year and half. So I went back to Bunn. Hope this helps!

User questions & answers

Question: Where do we buy a space saver coffee machine
Answer: Allegedly 10 cups, but those are the standard, “5 ounce cups” coffee maker manufacturers use that have no resemblance to the size of coffee mugs people really drink out of. In reality, we get exactly 5 real-world cups of coffee out of a full pot with this machine.
Question: This question is for the high altitude coffee maker only; what is the rating in watts for the high altitude unit
Answer: Made in the USA. It appears that most models are built in the USA except the CSB1 Model. From the Website BTW. So, spend the extra $20 to support America manufacturing.
Question: How many cups does make
Answer: If you are talking about the reusable, fill able coffee ground adapters, then yes, it'll fit.
Question: Is the csb2 speed brew model made in the usa? nhs i believe in made in china and they lump these together
Answer: Yes, do not put a coffee pod in and it will dispense just water

User questions & answers

Question: Isn't it expensive to operate with water being kept heated at all times
Answer: The Bunn manual says it uses a 34 watt heater to keep the tank warm. This will consume less than one kilowatt-hour per day. Depending on what you pay for electricity, it will likely be in the neighborhood of ten cents a day, or a penny a cup for one pot a day. As others have said, well worth it for the convenience! And if you consider keeping water hot a waste of energy, think about your hot water tank, which is probably 50 gallons or more compared to the 50 ounces in a Bunn pot.
Question: Does this model have auto shut off
Answer: No, it does not have an auto shut off for the warming plate. It is manual only. However, as it is a Bunn, the heating element never shuts off since it is always immersed in water. The only time you turn off the heating element is when you are going to be away for more than a few days. This why it is truly instant coffee. Hope this helps.
Question: Is it made in America
Answer: They have 4 manufacturing facilities in the USA and 1 in Canada. But they have warehouses and offices in other countries. All I could see on it was "Assembled in America" so I'm sure the parts came from other countries.
Question: What is the difference between the BXB and the GRB
Answer: Identical insides and functionality and performance - just different cabinetry outside.

User questions & answers

Question: is the carafe glass or stainless steel
Answer: It's amazing to me to see comments on anything but what is exactly described within this link for the DCC-3200P1. No, this isn't the DCC-3400. Yes, it has a glass carafe. The description says so in three places. Nowhere does the description mention a stainless carafe - NOWHERE. The photos show glass (I agree two of them have what looks to be coffee brewed, but at least one photo clearly shows an empty GLASS carafe.
Question: Can you take the carafe out and pour a cup of coffee before it is totally finished brewing (without it continuing to drip
Answer: Yes you can pour a cup of coffee before it is totally finished brewing. It does not drip. Once you return carafe it just finishes filling. There is no problem with a drip. Per the instructions. It tells you it is ok to do and it works perfectly
Question: Whar, besides style, is the difference between dcc3200 and dcc
Answer: Taste: Coffee in the 3200 is more flavorful. A new machine might be expected to be better, but I think they've gotten the flow and temperature of the brewing process better.Temperature: The brewed coffee is much hotter. Both units have three temperature settings for the hot plate, but the settings on the 3200 are hotter.Size and Capacity. The 3200 handles 14 cups compared to the 1200's 12 cups. Yet as you can see from the photos, they are the same height to fit on a counter. They seem to get the extra capacity by making the 3200 a little deeper from front to back. We've been surprised at how useful the extra capacity is.Carafe: The new glass carafe is just like the old one, only larger. It pours nicely with or without the lid on it. The new lid works the same as the old one, popping off and on. (I read some complaints about the lid on an intervening model with a spring opening, but if so, they fixed that by going back to the 1200 style). As far as I can tell, there isn't a version of the 3200 designed for a thermal carafe like there is for the 12-cup models. I prefer the glass carafe because it keeps the coffee hotter longer, and I can always pour the coffee into a thermal carafe if I want to.Water Filling. The bigger size also increases the size of the water fill hole. The lid on the top of the 3200 unit raises to 90 degrees straight up, where the lid on the 1200 tilted further back and out of the way. Still the 3200 is easier to fill, and I suspect that the restriction on the tilt may help preserve the integrity of the hot water tube.Sneak a Cup. Taking out the carafe to sneak a cup during brewing worked great on the 1200 with little dripping, and still does on the 3200.Basket. The basket on the 3200 is very similar to the 1200, but a slightly different shape to accommodate more grounds for 14 cups. Actually, grounds just barely fit with a 4 cup paper filter in the new basket, and sometimes go above the filter in the basket. The basket actually seems more designed for the included gold filter.Water filter. The 3200 uses the exact same carbon filters and filter holder as the 1200, but the holder seems to fit more snugly in its hole, which may help prevent clogging (see below)Beep. The 3200 allows you to turn of the coffee-ready beep if you want.Controls. Controls on the 3200 are a little easier. The 3200 uses all push buttons with no switches. Separate hour and minute settings make it a little easier to program and set the clock. There is a new "Bold" setting which does indeed seem to result in stronger coffee. There is still a setting for smaller, 1-4 cup pots, but I never use that. You can still set the hot plate to stay hot for up to 4 hours, which is important to me. There is a fairly bright blue glow from the LED display on the 3200.Cleaning. There was a sensor button on the hot plate of the 1200 that's gone on the 3200, so the plate stays cleaner. The extra stainless steel looks good on the 3200 but probably shows smudges more and might benefit from special cleaner fluids.Coffee Grounds Overflowing and Clogging. This was the biggest problem before, and I don't know if it's fixed, but it seems better. On the 1200, if you put too many coffee grounds in the filter it could overflow in the brewing process, and sometimes grounds would get into the water system and clog the tube. The 1200 was designed not to be repairable, but customers tried anyway with some difficulty. After one successful repair, we eventually had to replace the 1200. So far, we have not had any overflow issues with the 3200. The larger basket (with possibly a bigger drip opening), the deeper reservoir and longer case, and the more stable, non-tilting lid may help with this, but we will see how it works over time. I do notice that they made the bottom panel easier to remove, with regular screws instead of Torx, if it ever comes to that. My one tip for users is to always use the filter holder with a filter in it, even if your water is fine, because that should help prevent grounds from getting into the heating system. In all, the 3200 is an excellent replacement for the 1200, and worth the extra money if you are choosing between the two models new.

Answer: I asked my husband the contractor and he said no, too heavy - you would need a cart.
Question: What type of Decanter can you use with this ... Thank You
Answer: Two choices: long screws or short screws. Easiest: 4 sheet metal screws into holes drilled in siding (short screws). Stronger: drill holes thru siding and into house. If wood house, screw long screws thru siding into house. If stucco/masonry/etc, drill the siding with metal bit, then drill into house with masonry bit, then insert wall anchors, then drive in long screws to mount. All depends on how rugged you want hose holder to be.

User questions & answers

Question: can you by the lid that covers the hole you pour the water in
Answer: If you go to the Bialetti website it says that it should not be used on an induction stove, nor should you clean it in a dishwasher.
Question: Does this item come with the coffe pots
Answer: The Moka Espresso and a french press make coffee in very different ways. In the french press, hot (not boiling) water is poured over coarsely-ground coffee and steeped for about 4 minutes. Then a plunger is pushed down to separate the liquid from the coffee grounds. The Moka Espresso is more like an old-fashioned percolator - water is put in the bottom of the pot and medium-ground coffee put in a basket above the water. Steam pressure forces hot water up and through the ground coffee into a chamber at the top. To my taste, the french press brews a milder coffee and the Moka Espresso produces a stronger, bolder tasting coffee. The difference between the Moka Espresso and an expresso machine is the usually 15 bars of pressure in higher quality espresso machines that force hot water though finely-ground coffee. The espresso machine extracts even more flavor from the ground coffee than the Moka Espresso.
Question: Is a special hook-up needed for the water
Answer: Try (with the aid of a dishtowel) tipping it upside down onto a coffee basket filter in your sink; this lets you pour out any excess water still in the chamber and easily remove the basket while hot, but keeps the grounds inside the filter and easy to dispose of. Works for me if I want to clean it while it's hot. If I can wait 20-30 minutes for it to cool off a little, I just lift it up with a fingernail.
Question: Does it dispense hot water
Answer: 1. Put cold water in the bottom. The less water, the stronger the coffee. Max fill is about a centimeter below the pressure relief valve. 2. Fit the empty basket into the bottom. ASIDE Fineness of grind is critical for the proper Bialetti functioning. Too fine, and the water won't pass through. Too coarse, and it comes through too fast and you just end up with a cup of regular coffee. Most "espresso grind" pre-ground coffee is too fine. Most burr grinders won't grind fine enough. I find what's best is an old-school blade-type grinder. 3. Measure 4-1/2 scoops of whole beans into your grinder. Grind for 20 seconds (yes, I use my watch). 4. Scrape the grounds into the basket. Gently shake the base a few times to even out the top. 5. BARELY tamp with a suitably shaped tool. I use the bottom of a stainless steel 1/3 cup measure which fits perfectly. 6. Wipe around with your finger to clear the rim and threads of any stray grounds. Screw on the top, pretty tight, but don't go crazy: You need to get it off again. 7. Put the Bialetti over the smallest burner. Leave the lid up so you can see the spout. Start with the highest flame that doesn't wrap over the edges of the machine. 8. When coffee starts oozing out the spout, immediately reduce the flame to the lowest setting. 9. DO NOT WALK AWAY or you'll end up boiling the coffee, which tastes awful. Remove from the flame as soon as the coffee stops coming. 10. Pour and enjoy. This coffee is the perfect base for a cuban coffee or (with a milk foamer) a fabulous cappuccino. If you only half-fill the basket, the Bialetti also works to make a good wake-the-dead cup of regular coffee.

User questions & answers

Question: How long does it take to brew a 12 cup pot
Answer: No, you pour the water in. Bunn does make them that way if you need the convenience. However, with one that has a water supply you always have to make a full pot every time. With the kind you pour water into yourself, you can make one cup to a full pot depending on how much water you put in.
Question: What size are the paper filters? Cant find them in stores
Answer: No, both decanters have black handles. We found this out the hard way - had to order one with the orange handle to use for decaf
Question: do i connect with hot water
Answer: Probably about 24 inches in height. We use this pot st a small business. Don't forget, you have to buy the carafe separate. It is not included with maker.
Question: Does one decanter have an orange handle
Answer: You must leave it plugged in at all times. It has a tank in it where it keeps the water hot, all the time. If you unplug it, plug it in, and then try to make coffee right away, you will have cold coffee.

User questions & answers

Question: How many total ounces can this brew
Answer: I'm not positive, but I believe that you can order a replacement. Of course, if you purchased it recently, it may be under warranty. My suggestion is that you go online to www.bunn.com. The company website is excellent. You can locate the part by a search, or download the appropriate product manual and get the correct number from it. Either way, you should be able to order a replacement lid for your unit. Hope this answers your question.
Question: Does this have any Prop 65 cancer & reproductive harm warning
Answer: This coffee pot does not come with the pots they need to be purchased separately.
Question: Is this coffee maker made in the usa? and is it bpa free
Answer: No. You simply open the reservoir cover on the top right corner and pour in a full carafe of water.
Question: Is it made in the US or in China
Answer: Yes you can pour water in and not put any coffee in the filter/dispenser. No it does not have a separate hot water faucet dispenser.

User questions & answers

Question: We do not have our old coffee pot but we need a new craft to fit our old coffee maker model number gr d
Answer: The base is shaped like a"T"The sections of the T are approximately 8 inches in each direction. The three pointed stake shaped feet that are forced into the ground with your body weight, are approximately 7 inches long. The holder is very solid when stuck into the ground. It has a small "foot print" Like I said, very solid construction and nice quality. Recommend it completely.
Question: Will this work with model number BX-B
Answer: 5 inches.
Question: Is this the pot or the spill free topper
Answer: You will need a masonry drill bit and wall anchors (the ones that look liked tapered cylinders; generally plastic) plus the screws that go with the wall anchors. Mark the hole locations, drill the holes for the anchors, tap in the anchors with a hammer, then screw in the screws to mount the hose holder. Easy-peasey.
