User questions & answers
Question: | Hello. i am looking for the owner's manual for this coffee grinder. can anyone share |
Answer: | I've been using it with my Aeropress and a drip machine at work. Works great with the Aeropress, you can fine tune the heck out of the grind and it stays even, much more so than with a blade grinder. I paid for my grinder, but have been invited to Amazon Vine program and just recieved a french press to try out and just brewed my first batch using Nani's San Francisco blend beans with the OXO Brew on 13 (middle of coarse settings). I've been going keto with my diet, so heavy whiping cream and no sugar... tastes really good. I think if you plan on making good coffee, this is worth the investment. Wow, for a first shot at using a french press... that came out good. |
Question: | where is it made |
Answer: | We’ve had this grinder for a couple of years and do struggle with static cling around the hopper. We also have found this model so hard to clean that today it actually went in the trash - not because it quit grinding but between the clinging mess and the difficulty cleaning it, both of which cause lingering stray grounds all over the place we had just had enough. There’s got to be a better way. And by the way although I can’t compare the noise to any other models, I can say this one is loud enough to drive the dog and the toddlers from the room. |
Question: | Looking for a good Coarse Grinder for cold brew will this grinder produce a good coarse grind? Don’t want anything to fine |
Answer: | These other answers are ridiculous. I've had the grinder for 18 mos. Works great - but it's pretty loud. I'm not sure it's louder than other grinders, but these answers that say "pretty quiet" and "very quiet" are totally off base. Works great. Not "very or pretty" quiet |
Question: | What is the material of the bottom container the grounds fall into? Plastic develops a charge that causes grounds to jump out and make a mess |
Answer: | Yes. Amazon is overrun these days by fake reviews and it's only slightly better if they disclose they received a free product in exchange (as I do think a reviewer's time is worth something). I am now in the habit of going to a 3rd party, like Fakespot, to see if fake reviews are influencing overall rating of product. As of March 2019, Fakespot gave this product a "C" rating. I also like to read some of the middle grades to see what people like / hate about a product because most balanced reviews are going to have both positive and negative things to say. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What are the dimensions |
Answer: | It’s 7 inches tall |
Question: | What is an "HD motor |
Answer: | When speaking of a coffee grinder, it means heavy duty enough to get the job done and not wear out the motor. The last one i got lasted me 25 years and it was finally getting tired. For small seeds and spices, even hard ones, to any kind of nut, it does the job well. Almost too well if grinding nuts. Better to get the larger pieces out and grind just them than keep trying in the same batch, you can wind up with almost a dry nut butter. |
Question: | hi, where are these made in? thanks |
Answer: | The literature says "Made in PRC" (Peoples Republic of China) and the label cast into the unit on the bottom says "Made in China." |
Question: | How can you control the grind coarseness of the grind? This looks like a standard blade grinder with a motor |
Answer: | If you're very serious about this question, do NOT buy this grinder. That said, I personally like it but have a few tricks to improve performance. It's very tough to accurately control the coarseness with this type of grinder. If you are looking for a med-fine for making drip coffee it's all about amount of time you hold down the button, and does a decent job. Course grounds for french press are very, very difficult, due to the way the grinder works. When I make french press, I tap the button for 1 second, 18 times, picking the grinder up and shaking after each button press. I use a kitchen sifter to let the extra fine coffee fall thru (use that for wife's cold brew) and use the course grounds for my french press. Hope that helps. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Electric vs manual coffee grinder |
Answer: | This one is manual. I use it daily to grind coffee for my french press. It takes me less than 2 minutes to grind 1/4 of beans on a course setting. It is very east to clean and works great. I had a electric blade grinder with various setting, and it didn't have a consistent grind. I'm very pleased with this one. |
Question: | Do you sell replacement parts |
Answer: | Hi there!Yes, we do! We have newly upgraded burrs with reinforced nylon to replace the previous versions with plastic that are available on Amazon and our website :) Hope this was helpful! |
Question: | How many cups of coffee is this thing built to make? How long would it take to grind enough for a 12 cup coffee maker |
Answer: | Hey there!Great question! This specific style grinder is built to grind enough for 1-2 cups of coffee at a time, and it will take around 2-5 minutes to get that amount ground depending on the person. We wouldn't recommend grinding for more 5-6 cups of coffee at a time to minimize the risk of your ground coffee losing flavor over the time spent grinding beans. Hope this answer was helpful :) |
Question: | Does this come with a chart showing number of "clicks" and type of grind? (coarse, medium, medium fine, etc.) Or has anyone figured that out |
Answer: | Hi Mike,Thanks for the question! Every one of our grinders comes with a detailed instruction manual that goes over various grind types needed for different brewing methods. As far as the number of clicks for each grind size, here are a few additional guidelines from our team of baristas for you to follow. Turn the adjustment knob all the way to the right. Each number below represents a "click" to the left. Coarse: 13-18 Medium Coarse: 10-12Medium: 7-9Medium Fine: 4-6Extra Fine: 1-3 The art of hand grinding your coffee includes finding the perfect size for your preferences, so use these as a starting point to create your own unique brew.
