3 best cheap coffee grinders
Cheap coffee grinders, including electric blade grinders, offer an affordable way to grind coffee beans at home, allowing you to enjoy freshly ground coffee without spending a lot of money. Here's what you should know about them:
Types of Coffee Grinders: There are primarily two types of coffee grinders: blade grinders and burr grinders. Cheap coffee grinders often fall into the blade grinder category due to their lower cost.
Blade Grinders: Electric blade grinders use spinning blades to chop coffee beans into smaller particles. They are usually the more budget-friendly option compared to burr grinders but may produce inconsistent grind sizes.
Price Range: Cheap coffee grinders, particularly blade grinders, can be found in the range of $15 to $30, or even less. The price can vary based on brand, features, and build quality.
Grind Consistency: Blade grinders tend to produce a less consistent grind compared to burr grinders. The uneven grind can affect the quality of your coffee, particularly if you're using it for espresso or other brewing methods that require precise particle size.
Ease of Use: Blade grinders are relatively simple to use. You add coffee beans, press a button, and the blades chop the beans. However, you have less control over the grind size compared to burr grinders.
Grind Size Control: Some cheap blade grinders offer limited control over the grind size through the duration of grinding. You can achieve a coarser grind by pulsing the grinder for a shorter time and a finer grind by pulsing it for longer.
Capacity: Consider the grinder's capacity, especially if you need to grind coffee for multiple cups. Cheap blade grinders typically have smaller hoppers and may not be suitable for large batches.
Noise Level: Blade grinders can be noisy due to the spinning blades. Keep this in mind, especially if you plan to use the grinder in the morning when others are sleeping.
Maintenance: Regular cleaning is essential to prevent the buildup of coffee oils and residue in the grinder. Most blade grinders are easy to disassemble for cleaning.
Static and Heat: Some blade grinders may produce static electricity, which can make the coffee grounds stick to the container. Additionally, the friction from the blades can generate heat, potentially affecting the flavor of the coffee if you grind a large batch at once.
Coffee Brewing Methods: Blade grinders are suitable for drip coffee makers, French presses, and other brewing methods that do not require a highly consistent grind. However, they may not be the best choice for espresso or pour-over brewing.
In summary, cheap coffee grinders, particularly electric blade grinders, offer an economical way to grind coffee beans at home. While they may not provide the same level of grind consistency as more expensive burr grinders, they can still improve the quality of your coffee compared to pre-ground beans. When choosing a cheap coffee grinder, consider your brewing method, grind size preferences, and budget.

Question: | What is the warranty? Manufacturer's website is not helpful |
Answer: | Uturn, I just received this coffee grinder a few days ago and have all of the paperwork. There is absolutely nothing stated about the warranty. All you receive is the "operating and safety instructions" and that's it. Wish I could be more helpful for you but, I must add, that I find it very unusual that there is nothing stated about the warranty.Pamela |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is it compatible with 220 volt |
Answer: | Hi Amanda, Well I've had more time with my KA grinder since I wrote that review. I'm still pleased with the way it operates but have come to realize that grinding times need to be longer than the directions call for. I, too favor a fine grind so have been holding the grinding to a count of twenty (one one thousand, two one thousand, etc.). Sometimes it helps to pause at ten and shake the grinder lightly to ensure a thorough grinding with no left over whole beans. Enjoy! |
Question: | how much cup of beans |
Answer: | mostly metal, but there is some plastic parts but few. but the barrel and blades are metal... |
Question: | Is the grinding bowl removable |
Answer: | Read the book that came with the grinder. It tells the exact amount. I grind 3-4 heaping tablespoons of coffee beans at a time for a 12-cup percolator coffee maker and it does a great job. It is so efficient and so easy to use. I like that the grind cup comes off to empty the ground coffee. I highly recommend this product. FYI, I am a 77 year old Granny and am very particular about my household products. I want them to work as stated and I need ease of use. This one rates high in all categories. I have recommended it to several people. I stand by my word too. |
Question: | Where is this made |
Answer: | I have alternated grinding coffee and flax seed over the years. Because flax seed makes a sticky slimy gel when wet, I wipe the grinder bowl out with a complete!y dry paper towel. |
