Answer:	Yes it does. I use it to light the wood in my chiminea on my deck. I would try to do this with a cigarette lighter and the flame would blow out from the wind. The torch lighter never blows out. The flame is very powerful. I solved my problem with it. So glad I bought it.

Answer:	Quite a bit. It's kind of hard to tell. I bought a medium sized container. I would say it used less then a 1/3. I've played around with it. Making the flame all sizes seeing how it worked. Then I made Smores in muffin tins and at the end when it told me to broil it. I torched it instead. I used it, my 20 year old son and 10 year old daughter too. And I'd say the canister on it is still about half full. I love mine. It's fun. I think it has a lot of uses not just in the kitchen.

How to use the red tool

The red plastic tool with two nozzles is for depressurizing the torch before refilling. It works like a screwdriver but won't scratch the torch.

Answer:	Nope, no need to manually open/close the valve. The trigger actually controls both the valve and the ignition - if you squeeze it very slowly you can tell that it opens the valve when partially squeezed and ignites when squeezed further. I have never had any problems with the valve failing to open and close when it's supposed to.

Answer:	Yes, the black parts you see are plastic. I have used this model extensively for half a year now, long enough and often enough that I've lost track of exactly how many bottles of butane I've gone through but I'm pretty sure the answer is 4 or 5. Not once have I noticed the handle heating up when I use it. I've even touched the ring above the trigger which is closest to the actual flame and if I notice any difference it's that it's actually slightly cooler than the handle because I haven't been holding it and transferring heat from my hands. We (as in humanity/product engineers) have been getting better and better at containing heat ever since we discovered the internal combustion engine. Most of us drive cars that have us sitting a couple feet away from a series of superheated fuel explosions, but even in the early days of automobiles this wasn't a huge issue. And as we've designed more complicated components that we want to be able to put near the engine block, we've gotten even better at it. Also, keep in mind that the fuel is being lit only at the very tip, it's just room temperature fuel till then, and the flame is directed away from the device. I'm outta butane right now or I'd test but I doubt even the metal part at the tip there doesn't get THAT hot.

Answer:	I personally haven't had any issues at all, and I use it for art and practically every day. Sometime my thumb will hit the button that controls the length of my flame that makes it really low. But other than that, no issues at all.

Answer:	U can get butane canisters to refill this lighter at a hardware store or sporting goods in the camping stuff. Not difficult to find. Or u can order from Amazon. Be sure to follow the directions about releasing the air in the lighter when refilling. They ARE NOT KIDDING. I didn't do it and it was scary. I didnt get hurt or anytjing but the flame spits and gets all big. Freaked me out. My nephew said thats why u let the air out before u refill. So... yeh.

Answer:	You could place them on a post, or a table, etc., but not mount them, because the bottom of the lantern has the switch for on, off and timer, and the battery compartment. If you mounted them, you couldn't access these features. I hope that answers your question.

Answer:	It is designed to be used with the long universal tip. It does not come with an adapter.

Answer:	While is works well to sear thin strips of steak, a larger propane (not butane) torch is typically better suited for searing larger steaks.

Answer:	The 5.5 from Home Depot works, that is what I use. I assume larger bottles would work as long as the tip/injector/whatchamacallit is the same size.

Answer:	It is very easy to refill. You just press the filler spout from the butane can into a valve opening on the bottom of the torch and hold for about 10 seconds until liquid drops start splashing back.
