Answer:	If you put it on the bottom at the beginning of the wash, the soap will dissolve during the initial rinse phase and they'll be nothing left for the entire wash cycle. You could try listening for the rinse cycle to complete (indicated by the rinse water emptying and refilling again) and then throwing in the tab. If you're soap dispenser is broken it still might make a noise when it tries to open it...if you could time how many minutes into the wash that happens, then you'd know when to chuck a tab in there each time & set a timer each time.

Answer:	Not sure about Aluminum. But the All Clad stainless steel cookware does OK every once in a while, but the copper doesn't like dishwashers. And the All Clad cookware company doesn't recommend dishwashers. At least this product(non-gel) was better tolerated than Cascade on my cookware.
