Question:	Artisan Mat VS Silpat Baking Mat?? What's the difference, which is better and does the artisan also have tiny holes like the silpat baking mat
Answer:	I have 2 Silpat baking mats and I just bought 2 baking mats from DI ORO. Been a long time fan of Silpat, but I have to say that my new DI ORO mats are much nicer. They seem to hold up better than my Silpats and I like the DI ORO design better.
Question:	Does the Silpat stain? I bought a generic brand and it stains after one use and I can't get the stains out. Just wondering if they all do this
Answer:	Your Silpat will eventually turn a brownish color after using it a lot. Your Silpat will still be nonstick and safe to keep using. I've had customers who have had their Silpat for 10 years and it's almost black! Still used it and it worked just fine. Some people have found that if it's not too dark, you can put it in the sun and it will lighten up again. Is it stained in one spot or all over? We guarantee our Silpats for 2 years as long as you use it correctly. No broiling (480 degrees is as high as you should go) and no sharp utensils. I hope this helps!
Question:	my silpat is sticky when clean why
Answer:	Live dangerously, put it in the dishwasher. I use my Silpats with lots of recipes with olive oil, they feel extra greasy because of that. With it I don't have to handle the slippery Silpat or have it touch any other dishes in my cupboard. I used to jerry rig them in the dishwasher but now I use the Mat Rack, it's just simpler. One less thing to hand wash after dinner and I love the convenience of taking it directly from the dishwasher and storing it my tall cupboard next to my baking sheets.

Question:	I’m looking for a specific size, are these trimable
Answer:	I know three people said yes but the answer is no. The inside is fiberglass which will be exposed to your food if you cut the outer layers. It’s highly warned against on all of these products’ websites. Good luck in your search!
Question:	Can these be used without a baking sheet? i.e. placed directly onto oven rack
Answer:	We do not recommend you use these directly onto an oven rack. The reason is that the rack-metal gets very hot, beyond the heat resistance of 450 degrees. This can lead to staining, and in some cases smoking, so we recommend you only use these on a Baking Tray/Sheet.
Question:	Are these 400F or 450F resistant? information is conflicting

Answer:	No- not recommended to place mat directly on the heat source. There is no way around cleaning residue from skillets or pans left behind on glass cook tops. I recommend Soft Scrub...not the Yoshi grill mat.
Question:	How many come in and the order
Answer:	The product is made of a flexible teflon and is labeled PTFE (PFOA free)See this website for explanation of PTFE/PFOA http://home.howstuffworks.com/nonstick-cookware5.htm. Package directions advise not to use above 500F (260C). After you read the article at the website you can decide if the material releases chemicals. We usually slow cook at from 300-350F. The mat cleans very easily. Hope this answers you questions.
Question:	Can it be used to top a large rectangular casserole (lasagne) instead of foil to prevent spatters while it’s baking, not airtight just as a cover
Answer:	It comes with a black grill mat and a cream baking mat, but they both can be used on the grill. We use both of ours on the grill and have had no problems.

Answer:	These mats are made from PTFE which is not synthesized from BPA, also PTFE is an approved cooking surface by the FDA on temps up to 500 degree F.
