3 best none baking mats
Non-stick baking mats, also known as silicone baking mats or silicone baking sheets, are kitchen accessories designed to simplify the baking and cooking process. These mats are typically made from food-grade silicone and are known for their non-stick properties. Here's what you should know about them:
Material: Non-stick baking mats are primarily made from high-quality, food-grade silicone. Silicone is a flexible and heat-resistant material that can withstand high temperatures without melting or emitting harmful fumes.
Non-Stick Surface: The main feature of these mats is their non-stick surface. They prevent food from sticking to the baking sheet, making it easier to remove baked goods without leaving residue behind.
Heat Resistance: Silicone baking mats are safe to use in the oven at temperatures typically ranging from -40°F (-40°C) to around 450°F (232°C) or higher, depending on the specific brand and model. This versatility allows them to be used for various baking and cooking tasks.
Reusable: One of the key benefits of non-stick baking mats is their reusability. Unlike parchment paper or aluminum foil, which are single-use items, silicone mats can be used multiple times, making them an eco-friendly choice.
Easy Cleanup: These mats are easy to clean. Food residue can be wiped off with a damp cloth or sponge, and they are also dishwasher-safe. This makes post-baking cleanup a breeze.
Size Variations: Non-stick baking mats come in various sizes to fit different baking sheets and pans. They can also be trimmed to fit custom sizes if needed.
Versatile Use: While primarily used for baking cookies, pastries, and other sweets, silicone baking mats can also be used for roasting vegetables, reheating food in the oven, and more. They provide a consistent and non-stick surface for various cooking tasks.
Baking Consistency: These mats promote even heat distribution, which helps ensure that baked goods are cooked uniformly. This can lead to better results in terms of texture and appearance.
Cost-Effective: Over time, using silicone baking mats can save money compared to disposable alternatives like parchment paper or aluminum foil, as they can be used repeatedly.
Storage: Silicone baking mats can be rolled up or folded for compact storage in your kitchen drawers or cabinets.
In summary, non-stick baking mats are versatile kitchen accessories that provide a convenient and eco-friendly alternative to parchment paper or aluminum foil. They are known for their non-stick surface, heat resistance, and ease of cleaning, making them a valuable addition to any home kitchen for various baking and cooking tasks.

User questions & answers
Question: | Are the silicone pads heat conductive |
Answer: | They are hot when you take them out of the oven. It takes a little while to cool down after removing them from the cookie sheets. They cool down much faster then any cookie sheet. They work so much better than parchment paper, don’t turn brown like the paper. I used them over and over again while making Christmas Cookies. After Cooling, put the cookie dough on the pads, as soon as the oven was empty back in the cookie sheet and in the oven. It made cooking 6 dozen cookies faster because I did not wait for the cookie sheet to cool all the way down. |
Question: | Are These ok to use on an induction cooktop to help pans from sliding |
Answer: | These answers are wrong. Induction does work with silicon mats. You do need to have proper metal pans, but induction does conduct thru the silicon. Have been using them with success to minimize mess on cooktop and prevent scratching from bottom of pans. Would not use them on extreme high setting for a long time. But simmering and normal cooking work fine with a quality mat. |
Question: | can you cut these to fit pan |
Answer: | None of them apparently fit standard pans. I'm cutting one to find out if they can be cut. If you do before me, please let me know. |
Question: | Are these mats PBA free |
Answer: | I assume so since they are silicon, not plastic. I researched it and found this: “While not a “100% natural” material like rubber, food-grade silicone is a non-toxic polymer mostly made from silica (sand). It can withstand heating and freezing without leaching or off-gassing, hazardous chemicals – unlike plastics, which contaminate food in these environments.Jun 18, 2015” |

User questions & answers
Question: | Artisan Mat VS Silpat Baking Mat?? What's the difference, which is better and does the artisan also have tiny holes like the silpat baking mat |
Answer: | I have 2 Silpat baking mats and I just bought 2 baking mats from DI ORO. Been a long time fan of Silpat, but I have to say that my new DI ORO mats are much nicer. They seem to hold up better than my Silpats and I like the DI ORO design better. |
Question: | Does the Silpat stain? I bought a generic brand and it stains after one use and I can't get the stains out. Just wondering if they all do this |
Answer: | Your Silpat will eventually turn a brownish color after using it a lot. Your Silpat will still be nonstick and safe to keep using. I've had customers who have had their Silpat for 10 years and it's almost black! Still used it and it worked just fine. Some people have found that if it's not too dark, you can put it in the sun and it will lighten up again. Is it stained in one spot or all over? We guarantee our Silpats for 2 years as long as you use it correctly. No broiling (480 degrees is as high as you should go) and no sharp utensils. I hope this helps! |
Question: | my silpat is sticky when clean why |
Answer: | Live dangerously, put it in the dishwasher. I use my Silpats with lots of recipes with olive oil, they feel extra greasy because of that. I use a Mat Rack http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JFOMLUY/ref=oh_details_o02_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (click on the link to see a nice video review done by another reviewer). With it I don't have to handle the slippery Silpat or have it touch any other dishes in my cupboard. I used to jerry rig them in the dishwasher but now I use the Mat Rack, it's just simpler. One less thing to hand wash after dinner and I love the convenience of taking it directly from the dishwasher and storing it my tall cupboard next to my baking sheets. |
Question: | Is this a real Silpat or a knock off |
Answer: | Mine was a knock-off from BakeDeco. Returned it immediately. |
