| Answer: | Well, I am on vacation so I can't actually measure but it is a bit low to the ground. That is probably our one complaint. I know that you can use a base for a porch umbrella rather than mounting it in the ground and that would raise it up a foot or so. I am guessing installed in the ground it is about my height which is 5'4". The lines are not ideal for heavy quilts and blankets either. They are fairly thin. I think it is designed for clothes and sheets. For that purpose, it os AWESOME. It opens and closes like a dream. Hope this helps! |

But I liked the look of it so I bought the Brentwood MPI-54 which I LOVE and it's smaller. If anything happens to the MPI-54 then I'll use the MPI-59R. It has been a few years but the reason I bought the Brentwood irons is because I sew and when you sew you don't want your iron to auto shutoff, so without going down stairs to my storage space to look at the box I'm going to say no. The reason I say no is because the iron I bought before the Brentwoods (I wasn't paying attention when purchasing) had auto shutoff, which I hated , I wouldn't make that mistake so soon afterwards. |
