Don't know about "flame resistant Coating" but I've been ironing on this same board for 60 years and these are the only type covers I use.....this is 3rd one I've bought in those 60 years. I couldn't find one locally and had to buy a silicone cover and after just a few months, I discarded it and searched Amazon until I found this. My board is small so I pull the cover to fit tight and use thumb tacks to hold it in place. It seems naturally burn resistant with common sense use.
