Answer:	Yes you can use it without steam. There is a silk temperature setting which does not use steam even if there is water in the resovoir.

Answer:	Yes, this does a nice job of pressing pant creases. And, you only need press one side, no need to flip over and press again. I'm very happy with this purchase. The more you use it, the more you will like it.

Answer:	I have ironed fabric yardage with this press. I don't think you would have to fold it, just fan fold the fabric toward the back of the press and move it forward so you press maybe twice but you will get most of it the first time. I ironed pillow cases with it also - great press!
Question:	How does it work? Do you have to adjust the shirt fist to be completely flat so it doesn't create creases
Answer:	You iron the collar first, then put the back on presser up to the collar and take several movements of the press to get to the bottom of the back, turn to front and fit presser on the front up to the collar. It may take another movement down to get the rest of lower front. Do the other side the same way, turn and flatten each sleeve flat and press each one and done. no wrinkles anywhere, I spray inside of shirts with spray starch before pressing.

Answer:	It depends on how much water is left in it. I only fill it a little at a time whike using it.
Question:	Are there steam holes on the inside top surface that could cause "dimples" in the fabric when ironing
Answer:	There are steam holes but the don't cause any dimples in the clothes when ironing. At least not for me.

Answer:	You can spray starch on the clothes but I would recommend putting a light towel between the starched clothes and the pressing plate to prevent a buildup on the pressing plate.

Answer:	DG8520 has safety clip for nose of iron (plus indented heel area to securely hold iron nose to heel - iron stays securely in place since its gripped by both sides) - keeps unit snug together with less chance of falling while transporting (previous iron could flip off during transport as you have to physically hold onto both top iron and bottom generator/station unit). DG8520 also has on/off switch (for previous models without built in on/off switch - its possible to plug into power strip with on/off switch) which previous models do not... along with larger water tank. Both can be filled with water without unit having to be cooled down. Just refill and keep on pressing! ;)I've owned several of the last 3 models (for my sewing business - these Rowenta iron steam stations can be your best friend - saves time for repetitive motions)... and like the DG8520 the best. The built in on/off switch and longer time between refilling have spoiled me... plus it's neat that I can carry unit without fear of iron being bumped off while in transport.

Answer:	The designs are different. I am completely happy with the purple one. I had two previous models that I hated because they dribbled water all over, so (personally) I would not even bother with the cheaper one. Answer:	Just as you can use starch with a standard iron you can use it with the Singer 20" Steam press. It may be necessary to clean the upper plate more often to remove build-up.

Answer:	Hello, Thanks for asking this question. The recommended temperature for Vinyl is 275* F/135* C. Leather is more resilient than vinyl so this should be fine. We would recommending testing this on a scrap piece to ensuring it does not damage your piece.
Question:	Can this be used on bare floors such as linoleum or wood
Answer:	If you want a good, reasonably-priced floor steamer, I would recommend a Shark. I've had one for a couple of years now, and I love it! I paid well less than $100 for it; though I don't remember exactly what I paid, I believe it was even less than $50 on sale at a local big box.
Question:	Is it possible to create creases in pants? How
Answer:	I needed to crease napkins so i just laid them on the ironing board and “ironed” therm with the steamer. It worked perfectly. I imagine you would be able to do the same with your pants.
Question:	How do you hang clothes to steam? Can you hang them from the steamer itself
Answer:	Yes, I use a plastic hanger bc the wood can stain your clothing. There is a spot to hang next to where you hook the hose at the top. Love this steamer. Word of warning, do not leave water in it when not in use. After each use, I take the water bucket out and allow it to continue steaming until the water in the machine is gone. This prevents spores from growing and prolongs usage of steamer I believe.
Question:	Do you need the metal head
Answer:	As previously mentioned, the metal head acts heats up and can be used as a traditional iron, but for steaming it's bulky (large diameter) and too heavy to hold for any length of time. I exchanged the metal head for the plastic head

Answer:	It could be the water. Mineral content can wreak havoc including staining. I would not fault the press without first changing the source of your water. Give it a shot! Hope it helps.

Answer:	No The Singer Intelligent model 36T1 Steam Press will not lock when closed while pressing. Locking can only be accomplished manually by lowering the pressing plate down and turning the locking knob to “Lock” position. The press should never be locked until completely cooled down per instructions in the manual.
Question:	Is the machine designed to support 220v power voltage? Or do I need to use a voltage convertor
Answer:	The Singer Intelligent 36T1 Steam Press and other appliances that are made for the US market and purchased from a US vendor such as Amazon are 110/120 volts. In order to use them abroad you most often will need to purchase a transformer. Unfortunately we DO NOT recommend that a transformer be used on electronic/computerized products. It is our experience that when using a transformer there are too many fluctuations in the voltage causing irregular surges. For this reason we cannot guarantee that you will be able to use this press in a country that uses 220/240 volts. You need to be aware that should you connect this press to a transformer and the wiring is damaged, you will be responsible for any parts and labor to repair the machine, as using a transformer voids the warranty. Answer:	Yes, it does have a drain port. As a mater of fact, it has two drain ports, one on the top and one on the bottom. I did not need the bottom drain port, so I plugged it with GE kitchen and bath silicone caulking. Works well. No leakage.

The covers are made for slightly wider boards. You will have some more hanging underneath around the edges but this could be easily tucked under the board better with some fasteners.
