The leather side of the sheepskin is easily damaged by incorrect washing. The main points to note are:

1. Only use a mild detergent which is enzyme-free with no bleaches. Note many wool wash products contain enzymes which can damage the leather. Our Woolskin Wool Wash/Sheepskin Shampoo however is ideal. As an alternative, you can use a mild hand dish washing liquid for washing smaller items by hand.

2. Only wash in cold or lukewarm water (up to 40 C/108 F).

3. For rugs, underlays and car seat covers gently stretch to shape whilst still damp.

4. Hang out to dry away from direct sunlight.

5. For long wool products brush whilst damp and again when dry.

Question:	Many baby lambskins are tanned using a vegetal tanning process. It this skin tanned with natural tannins or is it tanned with chrome
Answer:	It does not appear to be made anywhere but in Switzerland at the town of Rikon, which is near Zurich, the blades appear to be Japanese blades with a Teflon coating so no Chinese made items it looks like.I've been very happy with these knives and they are NOT expensive either but rather quite affordable. You will need to sharpen them some and I do recommend not putting them in the dishwasher though even if the company says you can, but even they say to wash by hand preferred.

Answer:	The handle, that matches the blade covers, are made out of sturdy plastic. Great little knives, I find.
Question:	if is it washable
Answer:	Not sure where it is made, but it is a great knife. Use it all the time, have it for years and it still cuts well.
Question:	Is this genuine natural sheepskin or synthetic
Answer:	I would personally start off with a starter set which would include a paring knife and chef's/cook's knife. ASIN: B006OVZOZU is a great option if you wanted to go with the Classic Series (my recommendation) or ASIN: B004U8QDZO if you wanted to go with the Gourmet Series. It's absolutely worth the investment on either series.

Answer:	You are not limited to length. The card on attach on one end leaving the other end unrestricted.
Question:	Is this treated with chemicals
Answer:	Yes, you can. I keep the Global knives sharp with the 400 (if my family dull them through abuses), follow up with 1000, then the 3000 grits. Razor edges for weeks.
Question:	is the black closer to charcoal
Answer:	Don't know because I don't have a magnetic bar...

Answer:	Kuhn Rikon sells a dual sharpener one for serrated blades and the other is for the straight blades. Hope this helps
