Answer:	Here's a roundabout answer, but hopefully it helps. There are two parts to the kit, one is a sensor that determines if your door is open, opening/closing, or closed. The second module is part wi-fi part garage door remote. You have to program it just like your other garage door remotes and also sync it to your home wi-fi network. When you trigger it from the iPhone app, it basically sends a signal to the module to send the radio signal to the garage door opener. Long story short, if this works with your garage door opener model, your existing remotes will still work, but you may need to reprogram them all when you set this up.

Answer:	I have mine at my front door but i would use it outside too. It seem durable enough for the outside.

Answer:	I have not had dog hair stick to it at all. I have a German Shepherd mix and she sheds a lot. My mats are outdoors and I am very satisfied with them. They are quite easy to hose down.
