Answer:	In the same amount of time, you would steep a regular tea bag in hot water to make tea. So about a minute or two

Answer:	I have not used this glue gun for that purpose but I would not hesitate to use it for that. The bond is very strong. Be aware the hot glue takes a few moments to cool and bond, for that reason adhesive tape will be faster in sealing the package. Overall I have been very pleased with the gun and have used it to bond many different materials with the white glue sticks.
