Answer:	I had an exterminator in to put poison down for the autumn mouse 'move in'. He recommended these draft stoppers because it would be more difficult for the mice to gnaw through.

Answer:	The hooks or loops on each end are for hanging on a door or hook when not in use. The adhesive, I suppose, is to attach it to the bottom edge of a door semi permanently. I wasn't quite sure, but I don't use it that way. I wanted it detached to store it away during the summer.
