Many modern homes have up-to-date clocks or mini weather stations that depend on radio-transmitted data to stay calibrated and current. The La Crosse TX6U works outdoors by sensing temperature and transmitting that information to an indoor station. It can transmit to a base up to 80 feet away. The TX6U can be added to augment information coming to La Crosse units already in operation. Remove batteries from base units first and activate sensors; then replace batteries in base units and press no buttons until a display appears. Multiple sensors can be assigned a number so that it will be clear which information from which sensor is displayed.

The TX6U operates on two AA batteries. Its housing is made of durable, neutral-tone plastic. For options in wall mounting, two screws and screw anchors and a strong adhesive tape are included. Answer:	I have the 512 B-811 Clock and I have the same issue. I have to put the outside sensor just outside my window to make it work. Answer:	I have had 8 remotes for 7 months with standard alkaline batteries, had to change only one set since. If placing in hard to get to locations you may want to consider lithium ion batteries.

Answer:	Over a period of time, high humidity and condensation may have an effect on the electronics of the remote sensor. It is not weatherproof. I would place the unit in a sheltered location or in an enclosure that would limit exposure to direct moisture. Replacement remote sensors are relatively inexpensive at about $14. I have extensive experience with electronics.

Question:	Is the clock etc. backlit for reading time etc at night
Answer:	Whatever, the one I have is very dim and I can only view it by holding it. The thing says it has backlight, the manual says it, but it's not a feature. It also has a button "Signal" on the back that is not explained anywhere. It seems to work well enough, but it's impossible to read the screen in most places I have put it or hung it up.
Question:	How "weather resistant" is the sensor
Answer:	The manual suggests that the sensor can be out in the weather, as long as it isn't in the pouring rain. AcuRite sells a protective unit, here on Amazon, for a reasonable price to protect the sensor from full sun and rain and snow. Use Lithium batteries if you have it out in weather colder than 40 degrees (F). Right now it's 44 degrees on my patio in southern California.

Answer:	Yes, the back is flat and it has a recessed hole in the back so it can be hung on a nail or screw. Once hung, it sits perfectly flat against the wall.

Answer:	The volume is adjustable. So, if you want it annoyingly loud, sure. But you can turn the volume down as well.

Answer:	The tubes are soldered to the PCB, so they can be removed and soldered to the PCB again.
Question:	Does this unit come with a bed shaker or can one be used from another system
Answer:	No, I don't think so. But the clock is great and the seller is very responsive to questions.
Question:	Does this come with the baby alert system
Answer:	The tubes were soldered to the PCB in the previous version. The current version of the clock has replaceable Nixie tubes.
Question:	Does this set have everything needed to alert the hard of hearing to incoming landline phone calls
Answer:	Yes, there are two buttons at the back that allow you adjust/change the time and date. However the base appears to be sealed and not readily accessible.
