Answer:	I haven't tried it on wood wicks, but my guess would be no it won't trim wood wicks. It does a great job cutting regular wicks.

Answer:	I hold the trimmer all the way down the wick till it reaches the wax. Then I cut. It leaves about a 1/4 of the wick.

Answer:	I have never used it on a wooden wick but, I don't see why it wouldn't you may just have to snip more than the once it takes on other wicks.

Answer:	Yes. I gave mine as a gift so I don't have it. The descriptions don't cite 1/4 inch but I think that is what it was. Also other answers say the cut is not consistent. That is not accurate. The base of the cutter is thick (let's assume 1/4 inch) so you can't cut any shorter than that. The handle is angled so if the mouth of the candle jar is around 3 inches (most 14 ounce candles are that size) and it is a single wick, once the wax gets lower in the jar you won't be able to get the trimmer to lay flat against the wax. I suspect it would work well for a 3 wick candle but I didn't have a 3 wick at the time to try it.

Answer:	Maybe on the part that's been burnt off but probably not on the part that isn't lit. I used it on a regular cotton wick.
