How Does the Stove Fan Work?



The stove fan works by using the heat from your wood stove to drive the stove fan blades making for a simple and elegant solution to your issues with heating. The stove fan makes use of a Thermoelectric Power Generator.

The heat is moved from a hot area to the cold metal fan blades resulting in an electric current. This energy that is produced powers a rotary motor that spin the blades to move air. The stove fan is very reliable and has no need for any other source of energy.

The base of the stove fan heats up, there’s a motor here, which is powered by the heat that’s created from your stove. So the fan sits directly on the top of the stove and as soon as it hits a certain temperature, the motor starts working, the stove fan will spin faster when it’s hotter.

Will fit a double wall insulated stovepipe, 11.5 inch circumference, typically used with pellet and corn stoves. They make close contact with your stove pipe and extract more usable heat from the hot pipe.. Just like the aluminum fins on a motorcycle engine, they increase the surface area of hot, exposed metal and allow more heat to be radiated and released. You get one lot of 12 radiators. Made of 28 gauge high thermal conductivity aluminum, 1 ½ inches wide. Attach quickly and easily to your stovepipe and will work with any heat source. No screws or tools are needed. 14.75" circumference is a size (between 4" and 5" diameter) that I have not made or heard of before. I assume you measured with a FLEXIBLE measuring tape or string. A kinky metal tape will give readings like yours. A 4" diameter pipe has a circumference of about 13". A 5" diameter pipe has a circumference of about 15.7" But if you have verified, yes, I can make them to fit your 14.75 circumference. It is a custom size but I am able to fulfill the order without a custom price. Just order 2 sets of 6 of the 5" diameter Aluminum size and add a message .."14.75 circumference". I am not doubting your circumference reading of 14.75", but if you had not measured with a flexible tape, please do to confirm it before ordering.

Answer:	Yes, purchased a new OCDTR-3 remote a couple months ago for my Overhead Door OCG550 Python which was installed in 1998. Please note that as mentioned on-line by others, only the far right hand button on the remote operates the door but that's good enough for me!

There is no need to add anything to it, because it won’t mark or scratch any surface. It operates silently, and is perfectly balanced. I’m in a 32’ RV Trailer with vinyl floors around my wood stove (except the front has a heat resistant rug) I was very concerned that bought a fan that wouldn’t ‘walk-off-the-stove’ while I slept. IT WORKS SO WELL in heat distribution, that I occasionally need to hook it on the wall nearby.

1. Do not place in front of chimney,keep distance at least 4''.
2. The placement of the Stove Fan is very important to maximise the effectiveness of the fan. Place the fan to the rear of the stove top so that cool air will be drawn over the "cooling fins". The fan should not be used directly in front of the flue pipe or at the front of the stove.

Answer:	Not sure I am understanding your question. If you are asking about the stove vents, you want to vent out a wall.

Answer:	It is a forty pound hopper. It is a little tight, but it will hold 1 full bag of pellets.
Question:	How loud is this stove.....I currently have an US Stove 5500M -- and although it heats well, it sounds like an aircraft engine
Answer:	I vacuum the ashes out when the stove is cold and clean the window with a wet or damp cloth. However, I have not been able to use my stove because the door handle fell apart after only two years and they want $200.00 for a new one!

Answer:	There are some very wrong answers given. If you dont have a real answer, please dont answer. Yes you can run a pellet stove during a power outage. The cheapest way would be to buy a battery backup. Not sure what the min size would be , Im thinking 2000 watt up to allow approximately 15 hours of run time. Tech support should have info on this.
