Answer:	This is between 30 and 36" long. I am pretty sure it is closer to 36". It definitely keeps you far enough away from the fire unless you have a huge bonfire or something. I use it mainly at campsite fire pits and it works great.

Answer:	The blow poke works very well. Also it is a fire tending tool. If you have a bellows, you will still need a fire rending tool.

Answer:	My red Duraflame is in my living room. I've gotten comments from visitors to my house about how realistic the fireplace looks. I think it makes the room look cozy. Can you tell the flames are fake? Of course, but they look as real as any faux fireplace that I've seen (and I've owned five different electric fireplaces). I have a black Duraflame fireplace that's been in my three-season sunroom for about six years now, and it's on carpet. So yes, you can put the heater on carpeting.

Question:	Do the sides/front get very hot? I have a 8 month old and want to know if it would be safe with her crawling around
Answer:	No, the surface doesn't get hot. That's one of the reasons I bought it. I think it would be safe for an 8 month old, even if he/she pulled themselves up on it. It seems to be very sturdy with a low center of gravity, but I'm not sure I would totally trust a toddler to not pull it over.
Question:	Does this unit contain a thermostat. That is, will it shut itself off when the room temperature reaches a specific temp, and will it turn back on
Answer:	YES THIS UNIT HAS A THERMOSTAT, USE A WALL THERMOMETER AND THE KNOB ON THE LEFT SET TEMPERATURE .Turn the left KNOB fully counter clockwise, then turn the KNOB clockwise in 1/4 turn increments, stopping each time to allow room temperature to stabilize, check WALL THERMOMETER until desired temperature is reached. Leave the KNOB where it is and every time the Heater is turned on it will heat your room to the desired temperature set previously.

Answer:	To the best of my knowledge there is no adjustable brightness. Maybe there's a mechanism I havent discovered. But I love the flame effect as it is. Wouldn't want to change it, anyway!!
