Answer:	The heater does turn off when it reaches the appropriate dial you set . However , there are no degree marks so you’ll need to experiment which graphic you prefer to set . I’m in the south so I set in middle . Watch your return time as I’ve bought a few and one lost heat element and only rotated to one side but Amazon replaced immediately. It’s a small compact heater /fan and my best purchase in place older high towers not cost efficient.

Answer:	It’s get very hot , will heat a small room of door closed. I use it at work underneath a desk for my legs and feet, it works perfectly.

Question:	Is there a remote I can buy with this product
Answer:	It should as long as the temperature on the thermostat is set high enough and the temperature in the room is low enough. I will say this, the thermostat setting on it is not incredibly accurate. So if you're looking for it to be a certain temperature in a room after you wake up, this probably won't work. If you just want to warm it up however, This space heater will work great. I currently have it keeping a 125 ft² room at a comfortable temperature that I estimate to be about 68 degrees Fahrenheit. I don't have a thermometer to check.

Answer:	If you are referring to whether it oscillates like a fan. It doesn't. But it does a great job at warming the room I have it in and works much better than the old one it replaced.

Question:	Can this unit be set to keep a room at 50 degrees? I have a mudroom that doesn't need to be fully heated
Answer:	The temperature is incremental, not calibrated. That said, the lowest setting is just enough to take the chill off without building up heat (it cycles nicely)
Question:	Approx how many sq feet is it best used to heat
Answer:	This heater works well in 100 sq ft above 53 degrees. Below 50 degrees low temperature an additional Lasko heater may be necessary depending on what your insulation and window type that you have. I still love mine.
Question:	Durability: will it stand up to limited but daily use for six months or longer without the heating element burning out
Answer:	I have used it almost every night for about 12 hours per day, every day, at the highest heat setting and with the oscillation motor running for over 5 years. It started to make a humming whine a couple days ago, but still functioned normally otherwise. I just took the back cover off for the first time (it's held on by 5 torx screws and two clear plastic stickers) and used a tiny hose/brush attachment on my handheld vacuum (the kind I usually use to clean electronics, like keyboards) and pair of long, bent-tip tweezers (used to apply individual fake eyelashes or thread overlock sewing machines) to clean out all the dust and fur from inside the heater. Especially reach inside the cylindrical fan at the center from the top and bottom cups to pick the clumps out and vacuum brush the curved fins. Be careful not to remove all the grease on the bottom plate, or if you do have to wipe some off to get the dust, you can replace it with your own, fresh machine grease. I put the cover back on and plugged it in. Now, it works like it was brand new, no strange noises, and it's putting out a lot more heat and pushing it further around the room like it used to when it was brand new. I have bought two other space heaters since I bought this one. The Vornado literally melted itself with a few months and the Crane had to be rewired after a couple months, is weak, has no tipover protection, and can only heat a small closet or bathroom. This Lasko is the best space heater I have ever owned or used I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Question:	Is unit energy efficient
Answer:	Pauline - I'm an Energy Conservation Engineer. Electric heaters in general are 100% efficient. In other words, 100% of the power that goes into it is converted to heat - except for what it takes to power the fan and the oscillation of the unit. However, fans like this use an extremely small amount of power for the fan and oscillation. If you use this to reduce the amount of heating from your central heating unit (furnace), then it's extremely "efficient" and can save you a lot of money. A natural gas burning furnace is usually only 80% to 90% efficient. A good portion of heat goes out the roof through the flue pipe (exhausting the products of combustion which can be dangerous). Natural gas is usually cheaper than electricity per unit of heat, however, so many people think gas heat is more efficient than electric heat, but it's the opposite. By now, you're probably sorry you asked... :o)
