| Answer: | We are on year round level pay with my electric company. After one year of heating only the area family was actually in, our bill went down over $1000 per year. A savings of almost $100 per month. Whole house heating is a waste of money. We keep bedrooms and baths at 61 at night and off during the day. We use electric blankets. We keep the kitchen and dining room at 65-68 during the day and 50 degrees at night. Zonal heating is one of the biggest budget savers available. Doing this required purchasing 6 heaters ( $30-90 each) and 6 digital thermostats ($10 each) and electric blankets ($60-80 each) for each bed. We already had quilts. Our total outlay was a lot but we got it all back in savings within the first 6-7 months. The 2nd and 3rd year everything still worked so the savings was over $2000. Our master bedroom electric blanket quit working and we believe it is our dogs fault because of the nails. |

| Answer: | I would say you can put the heater about 3 to 4 feet away from you but here's the problem with this heater it puts out a lot of heat from 3 different settings low, medium, and high the problem is most of the heat rises off the top of the heater head. Yes it radiates heat out the front of it but not as much as you would think. You have to be close to it to feel any of the heat radiating off of it. If you were in an enclosed area this heater works GREAT for heating up areas really fast and to the point of baking you alive in a tent, camper, small work garage area or for emergency use type situations. If you guys huddle around it and put your hands above it and rub your hands together to keep warm I guess you would be fine but don't expect it to push a lot of heat out towards you guys as you sit there. |

| Answer: | What does "Windproof" mean to you? Will the MH15 stay lit in a mild breeze? Yes. Can it be blown out by a strong wind? Yes. The biggest problem is starting the MH15 in a moderate wind - the propane has to burn in free air for a short time to heat the combustion grid to red heat. One the grid is red hot, the propane flame tends to stay lit. During this heating period, the flame is more vulnerable to wind. |

| Answer: | The 1# tank will ice up and slowly turn off the heater on anything but the lowest setting. That lasts about 2 hours. A little buddy heater with 4K/9K Btu works best with the 1# cylinders. I have the hose hookup for a 20# tank and it's nice to have the option of using either size. You have to light this one with a lighter which is just another thing to forget to pack. |

| Answer: | Its specs for 10 amp max for 120 ACV. The internal switch seems to be mechanical so this is not good to power on sensitive electronic appliances. We used it to run an attic fan that draws 4 amps continuously for hours on a 100+ degree F attic for one summer already. I would not use it with a humidifier that draw 10 amps continuously. The switch may get warm under a 10 amps continuous draw over 15 minutes or so. Also, the humidifier may have spiked when turns on and double its normal current drawn. | Answer: | this has an electronic on switch. it will not automatically start up after an outage. btw if you mean outage because ie a breaker trips (many heaters will make that happen if the socket is overloaded), an electrician told me you need to let the fuse / breaker cool before flipping it back; it has physically overheated which is what caused it to flip. so let it cool for 20-30 minutes before flicking it back on. this is a safety issue.....! |
