Installation notes

These heaters are not supplied with a cord and must be hard-wired.

Answer:	It has an insulated cord with a plug but as I remember the plug was configured for a traditional dryer plug and I had a more traditional 220 plug for a welder or industrial equipment. I don’t remember for sure except it wasn’t compatible with my 220 outlets. It’s not a big deal to change the plug regardless.

Answer:	The heater is not rated for outdoor use, so use in a green house is kind of a grey area. While a greenhouse is not normally exposed to rain and snow, moisture levels in a greenhouse could be an issue causing a potential risk for shorting and or shock.

Answer:	Its made in china, and the wiring connectors inside are not good quality. Inhave two and both needed disassembly and new crimp connectors after two years of light use. The case is good quality powder coated metal. It would be a good heater if they improved the connector quality. If they are the same quality as two years ago, I would choose and older model made in USA by markel called the heat- aire. The Chinese took over manufacture and made it cheaper. Check eBay for the USA Markel model. The markel is a superior heater. I have many in use at my office and they are probably 40 years old and work flawlessly.

Question:	Is this a direct wire or corded? How many square feet is it rated for
Answer:	It is bright orange. Don't know I would say high vis.
Question:	Does this item come with a warranty
Answer:	This is standard monofilament fishing line. Monofilament line has some stretch to it compared to braided fishing line. However, compared to elastic, it has ver little stretch. If you cut a 3 foot length of the line and try to stretch it between your two hands it will not have any apparent stretch to it. On the other hand, if you tie a lead sinker to one end, get it caught in a tree limb, let out about 75 feet of line and try to pull it to free the sinker, it will stretch a little. In fact, I've had a sinker on 30 pound test line come back like a rifle shot.

The Fostoria OCH-Series can be surfaced mounted using the supplied mounting brackets which allow up to a 45° horizontal tilt adjustment. This bracket provides the necessary clearance required to mount each unit to a ceiling or overhead structure. Unit does require a 12” clearance from any vertical (wall) combustible surface. Unit housing contains a textured high-temp powder coated finish. Includes an electrical enclosure assembled to one end of the heater housing and 6' long cord with molded ground plug for quick connection. There is no thermostat, switch or remote included with this heater. We recommend wiring this unit to a properly sized line voltage thermostat; for indoor use our model ET9D4TS, outdoor use our model TW155A. Other control options include using a variable wattage device such as our model VHC-15 or VHC-32. Please follow all installation instructions that accompany each heater.

Answer:	No you can only use the side that has the wires

Answer:	It is not recommended for under carpets.
Question:	Does this heater have a fan
Answer:	You need a thermostat to install it properly - SAFELY. The mats are standard 110 / 120 volt hot & neutral. You could wire it to a switch and the mats will not care. The Tstat's most important role is turning the mats OFF, not on. Without a stat the mats are just going to keep making heat until you turn them off, maybe after the house burns down, maybe not. No switch, timer, photocell...whatever you employ to control the mats is going to take the place of a thermostat for a proper and safe installation. Anything else would be reckless.
