| Answer: | The magnetic piece that attaches to the bottom of the fireplace is a thermoswitch. It is designed such that the blower doesn't turn on until the fireplace reaches the set temp. It also doesn't shut off until the fireplace is back below that set temp. If you wish to have to fan run anytime there is power to it you could remove both connectors from the magnetic switch and connect them together. |

| Answer: | I installed my own blower, so the hum may be a vibration issue. This blower was louder than the original fireplace blower. However, securing it as well as possible will reduce vibration. That may be where the hum is coming from. Mine came with screw mounts and velcro tabs. If you don't secure it well, you will hear it. |

| Answer: | This is a generic replacement fan motor, its single speed . You have to look at the location of the motor . Looking at the back of my heater the motor was located on the left side. Even though my original fan was a two speed the single speed works great. I would buy another one for a spare. My electric fire place heats my RV great. |

These "backwards" thermostats are not correct, there is a reason why they look different from the picture. |

| Answer: | Marla,This is a off-brand fireplace insert fan replacement kit, which is similar to ones made by Heatilator- model FK4 (Fan Kit #4). Heatilator has their installation manuals at this website: http://www.heatilator.com/Owner-Resources/Install-and-Owners-Manuals.aspxYou can also see youtube video showing installation is at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-FBfvt6VIU. A guide to the basic connections would be as follows: There are 4 components that are wired together: 1. The fan assembly. 2. The control dial knob. 3. The metal plate with magnet and thermistor (temperature sensor) 4. The electric cord with wall plug.To make the circuit, you need to hook up the wires so that you make a complete circuit from the electric cord, to the control knob, to the thermistor, to the fan, and back to the electric cord. The order of the connections of the control dial and the thermistor doesn't matter- they can be interchanged depending upon how your own fireplace insert is setup- the thermistor should be near the top of the insert to properly work.In the picture shown, the electric cord has 3 wires; black, white and green. The black and green wires should be connected directly to the fan- the green is a grounding wire; the black should connect to 1 of the 2 connections on the transformer which is attached to the motor. This leaves just the white wire on the electric cord.The white wire on the electric cord needs to now be connected to 1 of the 2 wires on the control dial- either wire is fine (1 wire should be black, the other one white) The 2nd wire on the control dial can now be connected to the thermistor/ magnet assembly, the thermistor has 2 metal electrical connections (the magnet is on 1 side, and the other side has the little 3/4 inch metal thermister) These electrical connections are called "spade" connections- you just push the end connection on the wire directly over the spade until fully inserted.Take the 2nd metal connection on the thermister and attach a white wire between it and the fan motor.
