Question:	How long does this last before needing to replace
Answer:	I got mine as a set in 2013. Vivosun tent, 6' exhaust fan and carbon filter, ballast, fixture and bulbs. I never thought about replacing it, I just wash the pre-filter after each grow and it works fine (inside tent). I've never had a problem with odor, but I guess I should get a new one...
Question:	Where do I buy a replacement white pre-filter / dust filter for the 6"? Can I wash or clean the original one
Answer:	I would think that you could wash the filter cover. I've used mine for over a year and doesn't really show any dirt.
Question:	What is the CFM rating for the 6" fan and will be be sufficent enough for a 5x5x7 tent
Answer:	Your CFM for a 60 X 60 X 80 tent is about 167.5, now add another 20% of that number for your average duct length, about 33.5. You get 201 CFM when they are added. The AC Infinity 6” inline fan is 402 CFM at its highest setting (number 8). So, half of 402 is exactly 201 CFM. So, before you add a carbon filter, run your fan at half speed (number 4), and that is dead on your CFM. When you add a carbon filter, your airflow will drop about 50% of the number 4 setting, so you would turn the fan up to number 6 to compensate for the filter. 🤙🏻
Question:	What "flange" isn't included
Answer:	The way this filters work is that you can reverse the inlet/outlet flange and the base. With this filter you can remove the flat base and the flange (the flange is the part of the filter casing that you connect the flex duct to) then reconnect to the opposite sides of the filter casing. In other words exchange the locations of the base with the flange. To do this you need a Philips head screw driver to remove the Philip screws from the base and the flange then exchange there locations and replace the Philip screws. This is done to reverse the air flow through the internal filter. By doing this you extend the life of the filter.

Answer:	That is exactly the same set up I have and I had to buy a fan speed control switch to dial it back during the day. Sounds like you may have leaks or the duct work is not air tight. I taped all joints. I have my fan and filter mounted outside of the grow tent. maybe the fan is defective and not blowing correctly. I hope tgis info helps as I am very happy with the products

Question:	What’s the life expectancy if used 24hrs a day every day
Answer:	Relative humidity will play a role in longevity. Lets say you relative humidity is 50 and your temperature is 75F average. I would say about 6 months with some degradation. For example, if the filter was removing 80 -85% of the smell at day one, at the six month mark it would maybe be pulling out 50%. This filter is decent. Maybe on par with Vivo. I would spend extra and get the AC Infinity filters. They are closer to 90-95% of smell reduction from my experience.

Answer:	The pre-filter is a thin, black, flexible filter attached to the Carbon/VOC filter with velcro, so they actually look like one filter. The pre-filter can be removed from the Carbon filter and washed, dried, and then re-attached. Some people prefer to vacuum it rather than use water. The pre-filter is a thin and simple filter whose job is to provide a barrier that captures large things like hair and dust particles, which would otherwise unnecessarily clog up the carbon filter. Do not wash the entire carbon (black) filter, which has the paper frame around it. This will ruin the carbon filter. Remove the pre-filter and wash only that one.

Question:	Can I use this material (cut to size) to replace the motor filter in a older canister style Miele vacuum cleaner
Answer:	Having had tanks for many years I think it would be ok. There are two ways I have seen this type of filter used. One is in a filter that hangs on the side of the tank. I think it would work but I would still use charcoal in a bag also. My filters are a dual one with the filter like this and a bag with loose charcoal. This is more rare but I have seen this type of filter placed in the bottom and then covered with gravel. I think this isn’t a good use but that’s just me.

Question:	Does it works on 220v
Answer:	It comes with a 110v plug im sure you could use an adapter..as long as the motor is rated for it..
Question:	For exhaust odor control in my grow room, should I have the filter on the intake side or the exhaust side for best results
Answer:	Old question but seemed worthy of another answer; from logic and personal experience. I prefer to connect the filter to the suck side of the fan. With the filter as high in the tent as practical (helping to pull out the hottest air). Then connect the push side of the fan to the light hood. Then connect the other side of the light hood to ducting long enough to go out one of the upper holes in the tent and out into another room or attic. Then i like to use another (a little smaller) duct to pull air in thru the bottom with an intake filter. This should cause all the walls in the tent to suck in when closed up. Forcing air to be sucked in from every possible source in the tent. This should ensure all the air leaving the tent has been thru the filter. There are some downsides to this method. 1.) It increases the wear and tear on the fan. 2.) The walls of the tent being sucked inward can cause problems, such as knocking over a fan. Lastly if not for the smell I would strongly prefer to have more air pressure on my plants not less but in an imperfect world you have to make these kinds of choices.
Question:	How loud is the fan
Answer:	60db. How loud is 60db? Loud enough to be irritating, clearly audible throughout my 600 s.f. living space. Also, more importantly I think, ten times louder than the manufacturer/seller claim.
Question:	Where does the ducting go when it leaves the tent? What should be set up, if anything
Answer:	The ducting can end just on the outside of your tent, as if it was just an output fan pushing pure air out. It doesn't need to go anywhere but into the room.

Answer:	It will cover a pretty good sized area, provided that you keep the filters clean. I have mine in a room that is about 15' x 20', and it works great.
Question:	do they just control odor or do they remove allergens as well
Answer:	It has significantly reduced the dust in our daughter's bedroom, which is about 10 x 13 feet. Keeping up with cleaning the filter helps keep the dust removal consistent.

Answer:	It does not have a light to indicate when it needs to be cleaned, but it's really easy to open and get the filter out. It does help with pet dander...we have a Bulldog and she sheds like crazy...this machine picks up the smallest of junk in the air. We live in Texas and it's naturally dusty . My husband had severe allergies and was sneezing at least 25 times a day....I haven't heard him in over a week. I know when it's time to clean the filter because his eyes water and he sneezes a lot. This has 3 speeds. quick clean, reguar, and whisper clean. I use quick clean after I change the filter and let it run for 30-45 minutes, then I change it to regular for 2-3 days, and then I run it on whisper clean the rest of the time. If it gets really dusty, like when we do yard work , or we cook fish or something that really stinks - I change it to quick clean. You'll be able to figure out a routine that works best for you.
