Answer:	We use it in an area about that large. It struggles to keep a reasonable humidity and the humidistat is wildly inaccurate.

Question:	Can you set this to something like 55% humidity, and will it keep the room at 55%? Or is it just a dial with no specific setting
Answer:	It will detect the humidity and turn on when it drops more than 1 degree below what you set it to. However it's only detecting the humidity in the immediate area around the humidifier, if you move it just a few feet away the reading will usually change which is why they recommend using it in conjunction with an external humidity gauge. This is an issue will all humidifiers though but it works well enough. Someone said it will never reach 55% I live in an apt that is the recommended size and it will hit 55% if that's what I set it to. If you're using it in a big house, no it probably won't on it's own...but it's only rated up to 700 sq ft.

Question:	How much water does it hold and how long will it stay on before its empty
Answer:	This will hold a little over 1.5 gallons of water. How long it stays on depends upon many factors. This winter when it was really cold and the furnace ran a lot, the humidifier very seldom reached the desired humidity of 45 that I had it set to, therefore it ran constantly and the water supply would last approximately 10 hours on medium fan. Since the weather has warmed up some and the furnace is not running as much it is easier to reach the 45 mark and will shut itself off. Because of this the water tank will empty out in approximately 16 hours. The room that it is in is 15 x 15 with 9 ft ceilings.
Question:	Owners - why does the filter turn a crappy yellow color, dry out on the top half and then disintegrate into chunks and dust? Using distilled
Answer:	You're probably letting it get empty, and the top of the filter dries out. (When the tank is empty the reserve is half full.) Fill it more often. Filter is catching what's in your air. thus the yellow color. My filters have a skeleton in them, that would prevent them from disintegrating. You may not have the correct type in yours.
Question:	I need a very small room to run at constant 80% humidity. Can this keep it there and be set to
Answer:	This unit will not be able to increase humidity in a room to 80%. Evaporative humidifiers have their best output at under 60% humidity, and release very little humidity above this level, as the air is almost completely saturated. Answer:	Hello! A flashing CF is simply a reminder to check your wick filter to see if it is time to replace it. Your humidifier is programmed to flash at approximately 720 hours of use. This is not an actual gauge of your wick’s condition. If your filter is still in good condition, you can clear the reminder by unplugging your humidifier for about ten minutes, and then plug it back into the outlet. This will reset the reminder. Question:	WHAT IS THE SOUND LEVEL OF THIS UNIT
Answer:	Speed 4 is pretty loud. If it's in a different but nearby room, you will be able to hear it clearly. Speed 3 is moderately loud. If it's in the same room as you, you will be able to hear it clearly. Speed 2 is fairly quiet. If it's close by you in the same room you can sort-of hear it, but it's not annoying. Speed 1 is almost silent. To provide proper humidity over a large area, which this is designed for, you'll have to use speeds 3 and 4 on the fan from time-to-time. I keep this in my living room. What I do is turn it up to 3 at night (my bedroom is directly upstairs from the open stairwell, and I can barely hear it from up there), 4 during the day while I'm at work (if my dog is annoyed by the sound he can go sleep in my bedroom), and keep it at 2 during the evening/weekend daytime when I'm watching TV in the living room. That is sufficient to keep my place reasonably humidified. My living room is the central room in the house, so I need to keep it there for best results, but if you have another room that isn't used as much but it still central, you could probably run it on 3-4 all the time and not be bothered.

Answer:	No filter is fine if you use distilled water. We recommended to use the SH8830 filter(ASIN-B07SSYCGXM) for hard water, just drop it in the water tank, it can purify the water and reduce the white dust may cause.
