Answer:	Depends on what setting you have it on and how dry your room is. In my house with forced hot air which is really dry, I get about 24 hours per fill. I believe it is recommended that you fill it everyday with fresh water so expect that at least. I keep it on medium in our room which is 26x16. It does a good job of bringing the humidity up and cleaning the air.

I changed a fairly new pair last night, and the new ones got the humidity up to only 35 per cent and had already begun turning brown. This is with reverse osmosis water and a bacteria control. Formerly the wicks would last several months.

Answer:	There is a plastic tubular piece that should slide up and down to warn water is low (F). Lime / calcium build up and seize it or it doesn't get seated right on the switch. Im going on my third year with this unit. Beats Holmes / Sunbeam, etc. in its ability to cover my 2 bdrm apartment at 45% when its cold and dry outside. The others always end up leaking or making squeaking noises.
Question:	why does my humidifer show F
Answer:	Mine did the same thing when I received it. I called the factory in AR and they told me to turn the fan unit upside down and find a silver bar about 2" long. Spring the bar down a little so it will make contact with the water float directly beneath. Spring it ever so slightly and then a second or third time if necessary so as not to damage the switch. Once I did that the fan could be identified as F1, F2, F3, F4, or A. Be sure to plug and unplug the unit each time an adjustment is made so the machine can reset.
Question:	How often do you need to replace the filter if you run it every day
Answer:	Once in early November when I get the homie out. Replace it in January. I use both a bacteria stat and a liquid descaler which I squirt a little in when I refill the tank. Avoids smell and makes the filters work better. You can buy them premixed in liquid form. The better your wick works the less the humid will run and presumably it will last longer. I’m still using my old kenmore which I’ve had for several years.

Answer:	The "white dust" the questioner is asking about is mineral deposits from water when the water is sprayed into the air. This is an evaporative humidifier where water evaporates off of a wick, not a spray atomizer that sprays water into the air along with the minerals in the water. All of the minerals will remain in the wick of the humidifier, requiring the wick to be replaced. The higher the calcium content in your water, the more frequently you will need to replace the wick.

Answer:	I wish the review of December 31, 2018 was the correct answer and it just contained ethyl alcohol. I received a bottle in September 2019 and was disappointed to see it contained n-Alkyl (60% C14, 30% C16, 5% C12, 5% C18) dimethyl benzyl ammonium chlorides, n-Alkyl (68% C12, 32% C14), dimethyl ethylbenzyl ammonium chlorides. I contacted the company and they sent me the MSDS which listed these ammonium chlorides as the active ingredients. I can't endorse something that is going to pump toxins like that in my breathing air.

Question:	Can you put essential oils in this humidifer
Answer:	I use only distilled water. Oils will make cleaning and deordorising close to impossible. I would add a tablespoon or two of Rose water, orange blossom water - nothing oil based.
Question:	Is there any safe way to add aromatherapy/essential oils
Answer:	I've been adding about five to ten drops into the tank every refill. I've been doing this for three months. Just make sure you clean the tank and base at least once a week. Use vinegar and warm water to clean both. By the way, I've only needed to use five drops of young living essential oils since these oils are highly potent.
Question:	Is it easy to fill it with the water? I am buying it for my 85 year old mom
Answer:	You have to take out the top part and turn it up side down, open the cap, then fill with water. For your 85 years old mom, it really dependents on her situation.
Question:	there is no mist coming out... is it broken? i can feel a very weak blow of air coming out from the nozzle.. but no mist. any idea what's wrong
Answer:	This same thing happened with my humidifier. Just a weak mist coming out, nothing like what showed in you tube videos. The problem was solved when I put more water into the tank. Then the thick mist came out just fine. Try adding more water. Hope this works for you.

Answer:	It has four filters in the bottom of the unit. They do look like “wicks” I don’t see a separate wick of any other kind.

Question:	Having a really hard time with filters. Mine aren't even lasting two weeks. How do you make them last
Answer:	There should be 4 tabs on each lower housing (the housing that hold the filters), and there should also be 4 corresponding slots on each top filter housing. The lower housing should have two tabs sticking straight up in the front, and two tabs sticking horizontally out the back. The two tabs in the back are just flat tabs, and they are supposed to just slide into the two slots in the back of the top housing. The two front tabs on the lower housing are shaped such that they will "snap" into the two slots in the front of the top housing. The tabs on the back of the lower housing are used to align the top housing with the lower housing, and to help keep it in place. Check to see if the lower housings on your unit have the tabs in the back, and if the top housings have the slots for them.
Question:	Where do you get the filters
Answer:	No. You'll need 1/4" copper tubing, 6" duct tubing to go from supply side of humidifier to the return air duct, a suitable 6" circular duct to fasten to the hole you'll make in the return air duct, bell wire to run from controller to voltage reduction transformer. Do yourself a favor and get a roll of foil tape for taping up seams and leaks.
Question:	Are the wick and filter the same thing
Answer:	Works quite well in my 2300 sf house. Was built in '92 so not too old but still not as sealed up tight like recent construction. From what I have observed, the humidifier doesn't run all the time and humidity levels have stayed constant even with fluctuating outside temps.
Question:	Is the Copper night selection model hd3120dcn
Answer:	Yes, it can be changed from left to right. Basically turn the main part of the unit upside down and switch the drain and plug from top to bottom. The name plaque can be removed and installed right side up. Quite simple design.
Question:	The top of the filter housing on mine only connects on the two front tabs. The back of the housing just sits on top of filter. Is this correct
Answer:	I don't mean to say the same thing over again, Patrick said the same thing I'm going to say, but a new pad is all you will need in this unit. I'm also a hvac technican and April air 600ms are our humidifier of choice. I've seen some people who have such bad water the pad gets clogged mid winter, and I've also seen people who have bad water and have been using the same pad for years. rule of thumb to get the most out of your unit is to change the pad every year. You could get away with longer but why would you when you can get replacement pads for cheap at home depot. To install you will need 2 6" 90's, 6" flex duct, 1" zip screws, 2 wire, 3/4 inch pvc with fittings and glue, small piece of 1/2" vinyl tubing (optional), and a pair of tin snips. I would suggest hiring a professional unless you're an avid do it yourself type of person, but it's defiantly something a average homeowner COULD do with enough time and YouTube videos. As far as the solenoid, it almost never goes bad, like Patrick said they usually last around 10 years. I've seen some go bad in as little as 2 but those are 1 in 100 and factory defected. I hope this helps someone down the line.

Question:	can I use essential oils in this
Answer:	Part 2- please read part 1 of my answer first!! A: I guess there's a character limit lol! Ok so tutorial continued from my above post: This is the super easy part! Take you Essential oil blend you made or purchased that you want to infuse into the pads and add just enough oil to coat the bottom of the container. Add your clean and dried used scent pads to the container. You can add a few pads at a time .if you have a few like I do, I usually infuse 8 pads at a time, adding 3 pads at a time, add more oil to the container. Add just a little for now. No need to saturate them yet! Put lid on and give it a good shake. Continue this process until all your pads are in the container. Now once all the pads are in the container just look At the pads and see how much they soaked up The oil. You want the pads to look/ be fully coated but obviously not dripping in oil. I've tried it both ways... where I filled up the jar with oils and allowed the pads to infuse that way but I've found it just makes a mess when you insert them into the scent pad compartment on the humidifier with dripping oils. It's not necessary and just wastes oils. So just add enough that the pads can soak up. This may entail letting them sit for a few days, check on them and add more scent/ oil as needed. When I infuse my pads I put just enough oil in the container to cover them. Store in your refrigerator. Then I check back a few days and the pads have the perfect amount infused. Before I use them, I let them infuse for a few days, like 3 or 4. I shake them up as often as I think of it just to stir them around because the pads will stick to each other if you don't and then you'll end up with dry patches with no oils and who wants that? Lol I try not to open the jar during this time but I'll check them to see if some stuck together. Don't use your fingers... use a pair of tweezers to handle them any time you touch them. So basically you've just knocked off or hacked the vapor/ scent pads! Keep the stored in the refrigerator AS IS until you're ready to use them. Again, to use, take them out with tweezers and place in the scent/ vapor compartment of your humidifier! Enjoy! Hope this helps you
