So I can't say for certain if you can screw a filter there. You can however do it on the lens when you remove the hood. In other words, I don't see why you would need a filter on the removable hood, even if you want to put into water, at the distance of the focal point, it's probably not usefull there.

Answer:	There is no setting for a preset humidity percentage. It has a low medium and high setting and when the water tank emptied it flashes to let you know I have been running it on high and it lasts a little more than 24 hours the advertisement of 101 hours is obviously for the low setting. That being said it works very well and I love the fact that it fills from the top.

Answer:	The Cool/Warm Mist control turns the night light on/off. The default control is warm mist with the night light on. Press 1 time to turn the night light off. Press 2 times to turn the night light and cool mist on. Press 3 times for cool mist with the night light off.
