Choosing the correct fan depends on the volume of the area as well as the air exchange rate. To pick the correct fan, insert the values into the following equation to find the CFM. Then, review the chart in the listing's images to find which fan is closest and/or contains the CFM.

Equation: (Volume x air exchange rate) / 60 = CFM.

For example: I am using my garage for repairs and need to select a ventilation fan to expel fumes. The volume of the garage is 5,760 cubic feet (24' x 24' x 10'). I want an air exchange rate of 25 (the air inside the garage is completely changed 25 times in an hour, which is about every 2.5 minutes). 5,760 x 25 = 144,000. 144,000 / 60 = 2,440 CFM. Reviewing the chart in the images, 2,440 fits in the 0.1 SP (static pressure) column for the 20" shutter fan. This means I need a 20" shutter fan to ventilate my garage.

Answer:	Yes, but it is not a switch or pull that does it. The oscillating arm would need to be disconnected. Easy, but not flip a switch easy.

Answer:	on the high setting it is a little loud

Answer:	If I had to guess it's somewhere around 70-80db, depending on what setting you have it on. I base my guess on recent measurements I took for an outdoor AC condenser that my HOA required to be under 65db, and the fan seems maybe 10-15 db louder. On low speed I doubt this fan would keep you awake if you were 15 feet away or more, it doesn't really make much noise on low, but on high it sounds like a small airplane taking off nearby, but it's an outdoor fan so that may actually help if you happen to live near an airport by drowning out real planes.

Question:	The gfci plug is too big to fit into an outdoor outlet cover. is there an expected way to be able to leave this plugged in outside
Answer:	My understanding is that the fan needs to be plugged into a grounded wall outlet and not into an extension cord. Both the fan's cord and the wall outlet "trip" occasionally in bad weather or when we have a momentary blackout/brownout from summer heat and they have to be reset with the buttons on the fan plug and the wall outlet (like on a hairdrier cord.) If my fan plug had not fit I would have tried to remove the outlet cover (which closes by a spring.) If I had been unable to do that, I would have used a grounded wet rated outdoor cord with a surge protector. Ive had the fan about 2 years. Unfortunately I went out of town for ten days and when I got back, the fan had "tripped." I turned it on and after struggling for a minute, I smelled burning rubber so I unplugged it. I'm pretty sure it's dead or dangerous. Going to track down the warranty papers and see if the company will fix it under the 3 year warranty.

Answer:	The item you are asking about (# DBF0629) is a misting kit, which attaches to our outdoor fans. The misting kit will obviously not use any watts, as it just attaches to a standard garden hose. Our outdoor fans have a 53 watt motor.

Answer:	The kit attaches to a fan and then you attache a hose to the mister kit. The water pressure will make the mister spray. No electricity is involved except for the fan.
Question:	Is this wet rated? I want it for an open patio and don't want to haul it in every time a rain cloud appears
Answer:	We purchased a Deco Breeze Weather Resistant Fan from Amazon a few years ago and it is used on our open patio during the summer months. We did not leave it out during the winter months. The fan has been exposed to rain, and some storms, and has continued to run without fail.
