Question:	How can I get a replacement remote
Answer:	My understanding is that the fan needs to be plugged into a grounded wall outlet and not into an extension cord. Both the fan's cord and the wall outlet "trip" occasionally in bad weather or when we have a momentary blackout/brownout from summer heat and they have to be reset with the buttons on the fan plug and the wall outlet (like on a hairdrier cord.) If my fan plug had not fit I would have tried to remove the outlet cover (which closes by a spring.) If I had been unable to do that, I would have used a grounded wet rated outdoor cord with a surge protector. Ive had the fan about 2 years. Unfortunately I went out of town for ten days and when I got back, the fan had "tripped." I turned it on and after struggling for a minute, I smelled burning rubber so I unplugged it. I'm pretty sure it's dead or dangerous. Going to track down the warranty papers and see if the company will fix it under the 3 year warranty.

Answer:	It's a very nice fan, but it does not have a timer.

Answer:	The Rowenta VU5670 has storage for the remote. There's a slot in the carrying handle behind the fan, on top of the motor.

Answer:	I (carelessly) bought the VU551 in July 2018; it does not have a timer. There is a newer model -- same price -- and it does appear to have a timer.
Question:	Can you remove the front grid easily to clean the blades
Answer:	I say NO, and that is why I am even looking at this page. I bought mine in Aug, 2016. It does have the screw at the bottom, which allows you to slide down a clip. The problem lies in the plastic trim ring that goes around the whole edge of grille. It essentially locks in and seals the front and back grilles together. It does not give much leeway. I just spent 20 minutes trying to separate it- pop one grille out or just slide the trim ring off to either side. I tried it with two screwdrivers. Didn't work and I was afraid of busting the rim. Perhaps some of these other people who had it "easy" had a slightly different model/year. If you put this fan in any room with any humidity (maybe that's WHY you bought it in the first place??) then you ARE gonna have a rusted grille. Have fun getting metal dust in the air when you take that brush to clean the grille.

Answer:	Top of Fan in fully-raised position measures 48" inches from the floor. My wife and I use this fan to provide a gentle breeze over our bed, which measures 27" above the floor.

Answer:	NO. Oscillation can ONLY be controlled at the fan itself. I am returning this fan because of this. Model BFSR18B most definitely CAN'T be put in to swivel mode with the remote.

Answer:	It is quite quiet , especially when blades are wiped off and clean, just need to remove 3 screws and grill comes off, and unscrew plastic knob holding fan blades on spindle that turns blades. It's best to do this before drinking or smoking anything
