Question:	Does this fan come with the trim ring
Answer:	Yes, the inside gets the trim ring which is supplied. You adjust it's depth by cutting it to fit the thickness of your ceiling. The outside fan unit has its own flange built in as you can see from the picture. Not difficult to install, just be sure to measure carefully before cutting the depth of the inside trim ring.

Answer:	i'm not sure, but i try to conserve electricity and i haven't had any problems leaving this fan set to the Auto setting at 78ºF. the fan is quiet and has a brushless motor i believe. i am particular about accessories and their design. i like this fan a lot. i've also installed the vent cover on mine and often leave the vent open for days at a time with no issues. i highly recommend this fan.

Answer:	Officially the MaxxAir FanMate is the correct cover. I already had a MaxxAir II and put that back on top of it. It works fine. Vent doesn't fully open but it opens plenty... as much as it does with any other vent.

Question:	If the power goes out, will this fan come back on on its own when the power is restored, or so you have to turn it back on yourself
Answer:	I think the other replies were with older models? I just purchased this model and there's no issue with opting out of the thermostat feature. As noted in the instructions, to get to continous air flow, you just keep clicking the button through the modes (first you click throught the various thermostat temperatures, and then you get to "high" or "low" as options. If you click high or low either one will stay on continously. Both options are extremely quiet. It sounds like the person who had a louid nose on the low setting had a defective fan.
Question:	What are the dimensions of this fan
Answer:	It’s not an AC unit so it will only be as cool (or slightly less hot) as the air from the source. That being said you could use this fan on Exhaust to suck hot air out and use a tower fan to create a breeze in the room. But to cool a room on a 90+ degree day, I’d recommend a window AC. This fan will circulate air tho, so it’s not a bad place to start.
Question:	Just received and only one fan is spinning, is it defective? I tried switching from exhaust to intake, left blade doesnt spin at all
Answer:	This is our second window fan. I don't remember what brand/model etc our first fan was, but the CFM WAS WAY higher than this Holmes fan. My assumption is by lowering the maximum fan speed & thus drastically lower the CFM, they can advertise the fan as being quieter and using less energy. ***We have used this fan for 2 years and we DO NOT recommend it if you are looking for a high CFM (volume) fan***

Answer:	I’ve been using an older version of this fan for about 20, yup, 20 years. I use it in a garage studio. Sometimes it runs for months 24/7. It’s slowing down, tons of dirt and mysterious things on it. While it is exhaling i spray wd30 on it till it speeds up again, lol. I have absolutely punished this fan. But like I said, I run it all year, summer and winter. One side died about 4 years ago, but the other is running as we speak. The reason I saw this is because I was looking to see if they still made it. Yay they do; and it is very quiet. Next paycheck I’m getting a new one. I love the intake exhaust function,brilliant! So happy they’re still available. Can’t go wrong, and not a lot of money.

Answer:	The actual battery life of the doorbell depends on the number of wakeups and accesses per day and of course, the recording time will also matter. Usually, in standby mode, it can last for over 3 months(10 times wake-up per day). And it can wake up at least 1000 times when it is fully charged. Besides, as this product uses PIR thermal detection, there are two triggering principles: 1) when there is a temperature difference, 2) when there is a moving object. So we recommend not to place the doorbell too close to the street or the crowds, in order to avoid unnecessary wake-ups due to the temperature differences caused by the vehicles or personnel passing. *Please install the doorbell camera in a place that is away from direct sunlight or street lights for better performance.

Answer:	Probably not much....the SUNY has a few more patterns. I can’t speak for the SUNY but I have had this one of over a year and use it 3 or 4 hours a night 3 or 4 times a week. Still working as good as new. I have it mounted outside under a porch roof too. I love mine!

Question:	How far does this hang down from the ceiling once installed? i need a fan that fits very close to the ceiling for my aliner
Answer:	This roof cap is designed for 3"-4" duct. Range hoods or other exhaust fans in the kitchen require a larger duct than 3-4". This can not be used in this project or application.
Question:	Does this have to be mounted flat/level or can it be installed in a wall or in an angled roof
Answer:	The 636Al is designed for a ta shingle type roof. You may want to contact the manufacturer for the roof for suggestions on Roof caps. Many times they are best able to direct these concerns.
Question:	is a stainless steel 1 inch #10 self tapping screw with a round head too thick for this without pre-drilling

Answer:	Good morning and thank you for contacting LCI. The awning fabric is not waterproof but is water resistant. We recommend not leaving the awning fully extended in heavy rainfall. Question:	Strange question but is this fan strong enough to blow hair and give a windy stage effect
Answer:	Yes. You can shut the unit entirely off so that it (assumedly) consumes no power at all. We rarely use ours in the "thermostat" mode. The only time we do is when driving down the highway in hot weather, when our vehicle alternator keeps the battery full charged at all times. When in the RV, we set it manually (blow in, blow out, fan speed).
Question:	This fan works excellent for our needs, thank you. When it arrived one of the tightening handles was broken. How can I get a new handle / knob
Answer:	The MAXXFAN is designed for a nominal 12 Volt DC system and requires a circuit capable of supplying a minimum of 5 amps to the MAXXFAN. Confirm that the circuit you intend to use will accommodate the additional load. Use the proper gauge stranded wire for electrical connections.
Question:	Anyone else's MaxxAir start smoking after few uses
Answer:	From memory, I would say about 6". I've sold that RV, so I'm sure that my measurement is not as accurate as you need, sorry...
Question:	How do you clean the blades for this fan? Is there a way to get the grill off
Answer:	It has 10 speeds.
Question:	I'm thinking of installing two fans into my next vanbuild. Would 1 remote work for two fans
Answer:	that's it......just make sure the chains are all adjusted. We use ours all the time and it sure has made a difference
Question:	Are there also manual controls on the unit in case the remote is misplaced
Answer:	Have not used it on much uneven ground it will function on unlevel ground ok by just turning the legs to fit terrain. seems to function as well as the more costly ones.

Answer:	Not understanding what you mean by popping. We use ours all the time as it stabilize our fifth wheel from rocking and swaying. We use our camper at least once a month.
Question:	Anyone happen to know how many watts this fan draws on the highest and lowest fan speed
Answer:	We don't bother to secure it. Thread the heavy chain through it and go our way. We are full timers and are here most of the time.
Question:	I will be installing this in my ford transit. My concern is my only power source will be my van battery. Can I shut thermostat off when not needed
Answer:	No. It is designed for steps. It is not tall enough nor is it strong enough to support a slide. There are products available for slides.
Question:	I want to use a ac to dc power adapter. how many amp power adapter unit should i buy to power this? i believe this is a dc unit only
Answer:	This works like an office chair where you spin it up or down to the height you want. We used two on our bottom 5th wheel step and it made the step quite stable
Question:	How long is the rear overhang from the 14x14 vent opening? I've got solar panels up there and I may or may not be able to fit this

Question:	is the motor brushless
Answer:	I don't know if that would work, but you may want to install one first and see if that is sufficient. We installed one to replace the original fantastic fan in our truck camper and that is sufficient to keep air moving. We normally open windows over bed at far end and keep others closed so that the air is pulled all the way through. I don't know how big your van is but one is enough for our 10' truck camper.
Question:	Does this fan come with screen and inside trim? I need the complete package
Answer:	Yes it has on the fan controls. The remote also comes with a mount to place on the wall, so it won't be misplaced.
Question:	Does it include the putty tape and screws ? If not, do I use butel tape or putty tape

Question:	will this push the colder air in my full basement up to the main floor
Answer:	it moves quite a lot of air. if you put it at the bottom of a staircase and have a door open, i could see it doing that. the problem is then the draw, where is the air coming down into the basement from that will replace the air you are moving up? if it's from the same staircase then I could just see a loop.
