Answer:	The cord comes out the middle in a small gap and can either direction. This is so you can reverse the fan. So either way you have the fan installed (intake or outtake). The cord can come inside or outside if you wish.

Answer:	I think the other replies were with older models? I just purchased this model and there's no issue with opting out of the thermostat feature. As noted in the instructions, to get to continous air flow, you just keep clicking the button through the modes (first you click throught the various thermostat temperatures, and then you get to "high" or "low" as options. If you click high or low either one will stay on continously. Both options are extremely quiet. It sounds like the person who had a louid nose on the low setting had a defective fan.
Question:	I want to use this in a stand-alone one room dance studio with only one window. If it's very hot outside, will this really keep it cool inside
Answer:	It’s not an AC unit so it will only be as cool (or slightly less hot) as the air from the source. That being said you could use this fan on Exhaust to suck hot air out and use a tower fan to create a breeze in the room. But to cool a room on a 90+ degree day, I’d recommend a window AC. This fan will circulate air tho, so it’s not a bad place to start.

Answer:	This is our second window fan. I don't remember what brand/model etc our first fan was, but the CFM WAS WAY higher than this Holmes fan. My assumption is by lowering the maximum fan speed & thus drastically lower the CFM, they can advertise the fan as being quieter and using less energy. ***We have used this fan for 2 years and we DO NOT recommend it if you are looking for a high CFM (volume) fan***

Answer:	I’ve been using an older version of this fan for about 20, yup, 20 years. I use it in a garage studio. Sometimes it runs for months 24/7. It’s slowing down, tons of dirt and mysterious things on it. While it is exhaling i spray wd30 on it till it speeds up again, lol. I have absolutely punished this fan. But like I said, I run it all year, summer and winter. One side died about 4 years ago, but the other is running as we speak. The reason I saw this is because I was looking to see if they still made it. Yay they do; and it is very quiet. Next paycheck I’m getting a new one. I love the intake exhaust function,brilliant! There's No way to open it up, getting to the blades, to clean them. If there was, I'm sure this mighty little fan would still be humming along. To Semi-Clean it, buy yourself a can of Compressed Air and blast it once in a while. But, take it outside first, as dirt and dust "Will Fly".Today, I'm buying another one, same style. It's quiet, when newer and no bearing wear. It's powerful enough to blow across my head, (my hot spot), chest and down to my waist. I'm 6' 2" tall. Question:	Is it loud? I'm looking for a loud box fan, for sleeping
Answer:	not easy but can be done. first unscrew the screw at bottom of back, then gently pry all the sides..I used a small flat head screw driver but a butter knife would work also. I was unable to totally remove all sides but could reach in and clean the fan along with the front and back screens. Reattach by gently pushing side back together. Love the power of the fan but the being able to clean easily I don't.

Question:	can I use regular tap water for this product? How many hours does it work if I fill up the tank
Answer:	Yes, nobody would be able to buy enough distilled water to run this if that were required. It uses a good bit of water..how much is dictated by how high you run it. I can easily get about 10 or 12 hours out of a full tank if run on low.
Question:	Will this unit work in southwest Florida where the humidity is high
Answer:	No!! These are completely dependent on humidity differentials. I've read tons of reviews and background. They'll work to some degree as long as the relative humidity is less than 100%, but you're probably better off with a non-evaporative cooler in Florida. They work like crazy in desert areas, but even then, they can only do a max of about 20'F difference from outside temp. They might work okay in concert with a traditional central air system, since that actually de-humidifies the inside air. But I don't know.

Q: Where are the wheels and castors that should come with this unit?

A: They are in a nested compartment with a cover you need to remove on the bottom of the unit.

Q: Why doesn’t it cool right away? I just plugged it in but it’s not cooling.

A: You need to fill the water compartment to full to allow the water pump to prime. Once that happens, it will begin to cycle the water and within 15 minutes will be cooling efficiently.

Q: Is this a portable A/C unit?

A: No, this is an Evaporative Cooler that uses water and a fan to cool the ambient air. It’s also known as a portable ‘swamp’ cooler.

Q: How many hours can this unit continuously cool after I fill the water reservoir?

A: The MC37V can cool up to 4 hours on one tank full. I usually check my unit every hour to make sure I am good. If you just want to ‘set it and forget it’, you can hook up the unit to your garden hose and the float valve will keep the unit continuously filled.
