Answer:	Number 1 trick. You need to it as far back as possible in the seat. Even push your back into the back of the recliner as far as possible. This recliner is made for people up to 6 ft 8 inches. If you are shorter than about 5 ft 10 in , you are probable sliding up into the seat to reach the handle. When you slide up into the seat you are working against the footrest coming up. Answer:	Yes, instructions are included. Humorously, instructions are in a bag attached to the bottom of the chair. The first step in the instructions indicates where to find the instructions. The also includes the two special "bolts" you will need. No tools are required. Like similar recliners, the chair arrives as two pieces: the seat and the back. Similar recliners have you slide the rails in the back down rails in the seat until they click into lace. Not so for this chair. In this case, the rails in the back get bolted to the seat. The instructions would suggest that one person could assemble the chair by resting the back on a high surface and, with the seat tipped, slide the back and seat together then bolt. I can't see that working. Instead, use two people with one bracing the seat while the other puts the back into place and installs the bolts.

Question:	Would this chair be good and comfortable ? I am disabled and need to raise my legs and feet up and live alone
Answer:	I find it to be quite comfortable but am not wide in the hips. The seat width measures about 19 inches between the arms so take that into account. The two motors seem strong and have no trouble raising my 205 pound weight. One raises/lowers the feet and legs and elevates/lowers the entire chair. The second motor reclines/raises the back.
Question:	Can you raise the leg rest before or without lowering the back? So that I can just lift my feet up
Answer:	Yes. The leg rest can be lifted without the back being lowered. The back can be completely straight upright and the foot rest extended. However, the chair will not lift until the foot rest is completely lowered and locked.
