Answer:	There are no vents or mesh on the cover. It's a 5 sided cover that slips over the table. The bottom is open. The elastic cord pulls tight and locks in place holing the cover securely even in high winds. We love these covers and have them on all of our deck furniture. They've kept our furniture dry and in great shape for 2 years, in spite of living in a wet Northwest environment.

Answer:	I don't think it is. Linseed oil or tung oil are good choices. A pigmented one would also give uv protection. I would definitely suggest protecting these with a good oil. FYI, if you weigh more than 175 lbs, sit carefully. One seat of my set broke after a few months of infrequent use. It was under a covered arbor. Otherwise, a nice set.

Answer:	The mesh is not metal. Feels like a nylon or similar woven material. I'm in Texas and the seat does get warm but not too hot to sit on.
