| Answer: | My dog bed is a 48" circle that is 16" deep, but it's not densely-packed, so it's soft at the edges. The inside lining which holds the stuffing is a flat 5' circle. I believe I used 5 lbs. to fill it after removing all the original polyester stuffing. That was about 3 years ago. A few months ago, I decided to add a little more foam to make it fluff up more, and I got the 2 1/2 pound size. It proved to be a little more than I needed. With the full 2 1/2 pounds added to the initial 5 lbs (which over 3 years had lost a little, but not much, of its oomph), it got too firm, like a memory foam mattress-- when my dog got up the middle was flattened down so it was shaped like a doughnut. I removed some of the foam to make it looser-packed so I could pick it up and fluff it back into shape more easily. This stuff holds up very well. I like it a lot better for a dog bed than polyester fluff. |

| Answer: | We bought the 10 lb bag and added it to 2 bags. Read a lot of reviews and decided to leave the beans in and add the foam to them. GLAD we did it that way. Our bag were low enough that it was almost like sitting on the floor. It does smell, but that really didn't last beyond the second day. I carefully removed as large of a chunk as I could from the package and put it right in the bag, then broke it apart. Had someone hold the bean bag open and did 2 chairs with just the 2 of us no problem. It will get on the floor and on the outside of the bag for sure. Doing it carefully and breaking it up inside the bag, really did help create less mess from what others have experienced. The foam was vacuum packed so it may not seem like a lot but will expand. I almost thought ours were overfilled but with time and the beans working their way around the foam, they are actually perfect. When fluffed, our bags are right to the top of our pool table for size ref. they are for a single adult if that helps. Put off buying the foam for over a year because of some of the reviews but was so tired of buying beans that go flat immediately. Glad we finally got the foam. |
