Answer:	It could work. You might want to add some padding between the seat and front of the bench to avoid pinched fingers. Also, the bottom is quite thin, so I wouldn't store anything too heavy in it. Shoes, clothes and stuffed animals should be fine.

Answer:	I believe when it says capacity is 246 lbs. that is the weight that can be placed in the storage compartment. This is a very sturdy piece. When you are asking if 2 adults could sit on it that is all relative. (Depends on how much each adults weighs). I have had 2 adults sitting on mine and the combined weight was around 350 lbs.

Answer:	From the floor to the botton of the seat is 8.25 inches. This is a very nice looking bench which is sturdy and it also has a hidden storage space that is 5.75 inches deep.

Answer:	It's dark brown - not black. Really soft and sturdy but not real deep. I like mine a lot.
