Answer:	YES. I weigh 210lbs and it supports me. DO make sure that you place the nylon joiners onto the slats. When weight is on one, the joiners solicit support from the adjacent ones. there are enough to make 2 rows of them, if you are concerned about weight. And don't forget to insert the little rectangular plugs in the ends of each slat, as they prevent them from coming out if flexed under load. I'm 6ft2 and to my surprise it is big enough for me.

Answer:	Yes. And you have to put a twin mattress on top. This is all metal/frame and no cushions.
Question:	Could you use a 10" futon matress
Answer:	My spring mattresses are 9 inches and I don’t think 1 more inch would make a difference. Picked this one specifically because it accommodates a deeper mattress than most, so I didn’t have to buy all new mattresses. The only problem is that there isn’t a lot of clearance between the top bunk and the 8’ ceiling. My 11-year-old can set up just fine now, but she has to be careful trying to get down so she doesn’t bonk her head. The bottom bunk is low to the ground, so the clearance between the bottom mattress and the bottom of the top bed is large but the space from the top mattress to the ceiling is a little smaller than ideal.
