Answer:	Well I don’t believe it is specifically advertised as a blender that purees, but it definitely does. My first chopping attempt, I had nicely pureed red peppers and onions with a few lumps. The blade is wicked sharp, and it definitely purees (shoulda seen my “chopped veg” lol). Smaller amounts, don’t pack it tightly full, just do batches if you need a lot, and this thing can puree finely enough for baby food.

Answer:	As far as I can tell the black body is plastic, the blades fit into a plastic piece and the lid is plastic. The container is glass. I have no idea if the internal parts are plastic or metal.
