Answer:	It has a significant amount of space for storage. I bought this for my son. He is very pleased with it. Has containers and items that he doesn't need on a daily basis. Easy access!
Question:	Does the storage area have a base? if so, what material
Answer:	This material is a faux leather. No base the lift mattress has room underneath for storage
Question:	Is there room for toes under the bed so you don’t kick you feet on sides and bottom
Answer:	No, it is straight up and down with the mattress. We kick our toes all the time. Now that winter has arrived we put a bead spread on the bed. With the added weight the hydraulic system will not hold the mattress up. It is so underpowered that it takes two of us to raise the bed with a bed spread on it. Plus, one of us has to hold it up while the other one gets what was needed. I would look at another option and not this one. We have a king bed with a sleep number air mattress on top with no box springs. Hope this helps.

Answer:	No. The sides bolt into the headboard. Without the headboard it would be totally unstable on that end.
