If you have a fluffy comforter that you wrap around your mattress the 54" fits just right. If it's the 60" mattress and you do the same, it will hang over just a bit from the fluffiness of the comforter but again its personal preference if you like that look.

Answer:	My daughter has been using it a couple years now, we've moved it from room to room. It's sturdy. There are two wood pieces that sit under the mattress, on top of the drawers that are pretty thick and heavy. We love this bed.

Answer:	No box spring needed! But the twin mattress doesn't fit the frame as snug as you Would think it should being it's a childrens bed. I suppose a twin comforter tucked on the sides would make it a little more snug, perhaps?

Answer:	The weight capacity for the Bed and Trundle is 300lb.

Answer:	You can put the drawers on either side of the bed. The depth of the drawer is shorter than the bed, so the other side od the bed is empty, just like a normal twin bed.

Answer:	The slats are 4 and a half inches apart. They are prearranged and can't be altered.

Answer:	The wooden slats only sit about an inch below the frame itself so the mattress is almost even with the frame. Hope this helps

The charcoal finish features an exciting brushed texture and slight black glaze that gives it a high-end weathered appearance. Wood knots and other finish imperfections may be present, which further enhance the weathered theme. Charcoal is a 6 step finish and is top coated with a durable wax with a subtle sheen. The finish works well with the brushed nickel hardware and while transitional, can certainly work as a contemporary or coastal finish.

Drawer Details

All drawers feature a European roller drawer glides with a positive stop. These glides will provide silky-smooth operation and the positive stop prevents the drawers from being pulled out and falling to the ground if pulled too hard. The inside measurement of each drawer is 15.75" D x 21 3/8" W x 4" T.

Headboard Details

The headboard includes two variable height shelves that can be placed in three different positions. Assembly is required.

Additional Hidden Storage

The door on the footboard of the bed provides access to a large area that can be used for additional hidden storage. The space measures 83" x 39".
