Answer: You cannot attach a headboard with a 5/16 in screw! We bought a headboard and the screws it came with would not fit through the small holes of the bed frame. Had to chisel away at the bed frame holes to make the screw fit. And it took forever and was super frustrating

But for figuring the ‘drop’ for a bed skirt — i.e. from just underneath the mattress down to the floor — i give it 7 inches. It’s surprisingly sturdy for the price, and the fact that it’s held together by gravity and friction/pressure.

I bought a 12" Hybrid I-Coil/Gel-Foam mattress directly from Zinus, and the frame via Amazon and it is very firm and solid. The best sleep I've ever had.
Question: Does it have holes on the corners for headboard/footboard brackets
Answer: This frame does not squeek on me so far. I was happy to see the construction was quality and the pieces fit well.
Question: could it hold the weight of a couple where the man is quite large
Answer: There is about 5" of clearance for under-bed storage.
