Answer:	The headphones will not make your head look big... Those jeans, though... That's a whole another story. When the band is all the way down to it's smallest, there is still a gap between the top of my head and the top of the band, but then my brain cavity is pretty small. but I just move the band a little to the front or back of my head and it makes up the difference. Width wise though, they're fine. And the cups surround the ear so well that when I wear them while working around the house, I have never had an issue with them slipping. With that said, I was curious to find the answer and did a little test for you. In general, the over-ear headphones form a nice seal around your ears that prevent leakage. One feature with the Sony's is the long-term comfort, but as a result they do not form the tightest seal around your ears.For my test, I played music on my computer. It has a volume scale of 0-100. I pinched the ear pads together to simulate the seal over the ears and held the headphones at an arm's length away (approximately 3') to simulate an immediate neighbor in a library. A level 50 (50% volume) I could noticeably hear leakage. However when putting them on at this level, the music was quite loud and I doubt you could do anything productive in a library at this volume.Around Level 24 (24% volume), is when I couldn't hear the music at 3'. When I tried the headphones on at this level, it was comfortable, but still a little loud for any reading or studying in my opinion.Level 16 (16% Volume) was comfortable volume for me. No noise leakage to neighbors.Pretty much all leakage was on the higher notes and not the bass. So depending on the type how music and how loud, the volume can be variable. One good thing with noise cancelling is you can get good volume and lower levels than standard buds.
