Answer:	I wash with whites using hot water option and Tide with bleach (granules). This solves odor issues for me as well as providing cleaning. I do not know how much fluid the mattress pad contained when I washed in the past however.

I feel no difference between the area covered by the Priva Ultra Plus waterproof sheet protector. We sleep on a Tempurpedic mattress and it is that which we protect. Sheets can be washed but the mattress doesn't fit in the dryer :o)

Answer:	Definitely! I switched from using the disposable puppy pads to using these pads for my three small dogs. They work wonderfully! I just throw them in the washing machine with some bleach and hot water to wash and they come out beautifully. I save money on not having to buy disposable puppy pads, and I'm not creating more trash for the landfill. My suggestion for switching from disposable puppy pads to these pads is to put a puppy pad next to this pad on the floor and gradually transition your dog to the new pads. My 15 yr old pug had a bit of a challenge at first, thinking she was trying to "go" on something she should not. She was looking for the puppy pads, but it did not take very long for her to realize that these pads were the "new thing" for her to use.

Answer:	I think it provides somewhat of a barrier... but its not an airtight seal, it doesn't seal like a plastic bag. So TECHNICALLY it is possible that dust mites and bed bugs could get to the mattress... But I think it is very well protected, barring an air tight sealing cover. I purchased it for spills and if a child should wet the bed... my concern was not dust mites or bed bugs.

Answer:	No, it is not zippered if it is fitted. It was misleading on the picture because it showed a zipper. I bought more and looked specifically for the zippered on the label.
