All I can say for certain is that firm mattress with coil springs offer better support and consistency than those do not. You will not sink or fall where I am confident medium to large person tries Nutan should not have a problem sleeping well. Highly recommend. Spend a little extra money is so worth it!

Answer:	It's 2 inches thick. I placed it under my mattress pad for protection and I can hardly tell that it's there. It doesn't seem to make a difference I expected it to make.
